after seeing and feeling the physical effects of the reduction in camber in the rear of my Verada (no more tyre wear problems! and nervous or loose feeling in the rear while going over a small bump around a corner) .. and seeing the truley simple design, manufacture of the 'kit' that whiteline does itself.. the price of the rear camber kit seems quite high for some shims and bolts.. and a small black and white printout for instructions..

i was wondering if i made some kits, pretty much exactly the same as what you get with the whiteline kit, only more comprehinsive instructions..

would anyone be interested in them?? just to give you an idea i could assemble a kit at around half the price maybe less (see how we go) of the whiteline kit.. and do the same job just as well..

please post your thoughts..

I'd be interested
Out of curiosity how much is the whiteline kit?
Does the same kit suit both FWD and AWD?

they are $99.82 off the whiteline webstore.. KCA357 is the part number.. basically its a set of thick shims, and a bunch of long bolts, laser/waterjet cut to shape/size/thickness..

i'll need to get some prices.. but i dare say that if i have enough interest i could make a fair few kits :) the more ppl want, the less it will cost :)

and yes.. AWD is the same.

What you paid from Whiteline is the quality and durability.

Unless you are making the kits with the same material on what Whitelines used, then I may be keen but your product needs to be tested at first before selling it.

ok.. i understand what your saying, so i'll describe the KCA357 'kit'

have you actually seen the kit whiteline provides?? just curious..

there are 8 x '8.8' 45mm long zinc plated steel bolts (the ones you buy from bunnings), 8 flat washers.. and 8 shims that are cut out of a single peice of steel plate 8mm thick.. and 8 shims cut out of 3mm plate.. depending on how much + camber you want, you fit the 8mm shim, or the 3mm shim, or both (thicker = more camber)

there is absolulty nothing i mean nothing mechanicle, special or complex at all in the design or function.. the pure fact that i got them was i was described a offset 'bush' from all the ppl i rang about these kits.. you could do the same thing with 10 washers and a long bolt if you wanted to..

you could just imagine the look on my face when a packet of washers and longer bolts!!! i was mortified that i paid $100 for that..

i'm just trying to save everyone a buck or 50 here..

exactly my point gas_head..

http://www.whiteline.com.au/docs/instructs/214_KCA357.pdf

thats the kit.. just bolts, shims and some washers.. rather than use a heap of washers i'll get shims laser cut the according thickness.. and go from there..

an rough idea on price would be around $55 per 'kit' with instructions (more comprehensive than the whiteline instrucitons..) i managed to fit mine in about 25mins which included jacking up the car (on stands ofcourse) and removing the wheels..

peice of piss to install.. and it really is a worthwhile modification.. i can tell you that the car feels sooo much better to drive with less - camber in the rear..
