well we reconditioned the carby last night and we dont think the secondaries are opening up. can anybody tell me if you can here induction noise when the secondaries open up?

as long as the vaccume lines are all good
and the two dashpots are working

you shouldnt hear any unusuall noises

just smooth transition /acceleration to the secondary stage of the carb

When the secondaries come in on mine (which is completely stock), it makes a lovely burbling sound.

well you cant hear anything with mine. also if you rev it out while looking down the thrat of the carby should you be able to see the secondars open??

you'll never see the secondary open revving it with no load on the engine.

easiest way to check to see if the secondary is working is to connect a hose to the secondary dashpot and suck on it to see if it moves.

also, I found that eliminating the thermal valve helped a lot when I had my stock carby.
