Tried a quick search but it brings up way too much irrelevant stuff to sift through, I can't be bothered.

All I want to know is is the factory exhaust from the cat back on a KJ 2.5"? Was part of the power upgrade from 147 to 155 no?

KJ has 2.5inch. TJ sports muffler had the same diameter piping on it when i put it in. KJ s1 was 150kw due to cam change. KJ s2 was 155kw due to gaining the sports/vrx tune. Im pretty sure it was established that all 3.5s had the same piping (ie. 2.5inch).

Sweet thanks mate. That is what I thought, you've got a Sports exhaust on yours yeah? Or am I thinking of someone else?

As for the 3.5 all having the same piping, I know thats not right, KE-KH/TH3.5 had 2.25" through. That much I know.

My reason for asking is I have a nice big crack in my piping and rather than replacing just the rear muffler from the flange just to want to replace the lot later on to 2.5", I figured I might as well just get the KJ factory exhaust from the cat back while its available, so I've only gotta replace the muffler later on when I want to :)

Cheers mate.

Only other question, will it be bolt on going from 2.25" factory to 2.5" factory at the cat, or will it require cutting and welding?

I'm pretty sure all 3.5s have the same piping. I've always been under the impression that even the TJ/KJs were ~2.25" though.

From the Magna FAQ (http://www.wermspowke.net/wiki/index.php/Exhaust):

The stock exhaust (cat back) for 3rd gens (3.5L) is quite good for a standard exhaust system. The standard exhaust piping measures 58mm (2.3") at its smallest diameter on a bend, and 60mm (2.4") along its straight sections. The muffler is a quiet, yet very restrictive tri-flow design.

Hmm cheers. Theres something different about the TE-TH Piping though, because a TJ Sports exhaust bolts onto a TJ on at the flange, where on the TE-TH it does not.

Thanks guys.

You sure bout that? Because all 3.5s have the same lukey part number for the bolt on lukey muffler that has the flange and stuff already welded on.

Can't be patched, its a crack along the weld, can't weld welds.

Pretty sure, everywhere I inquired about the fitment of a VRX exhaust a while back told me it'd require cuting and welding to fit, that only the TJ on flange was the suitable size for direct bolt on.

Thought so. The sports exhaust has the dipping twin tips like the factory exhaust yeah? I've only ever paid attention to the VRX ones with the single tip straight out. Looks tough on the Verada's but it does hang low.

Sports muffler is a single drooping tailpipe, looks like a semi hard-on
