Hey you lot!
I want to tidy my boot up a bit. The carpet is shot, the trims are worn out and the spare wheel cover has covered its last spare wheel.
Currently i am running a pioneer deck(getting replaced soon) running the ts series competition splits up front and the ts series 6x9 2 ways in the rear, same as these (http://www.ryda.com.au/Pioneer-TS-D690R-Car-Speakers-p/tsd690r.htm).
The front splits are the same style. Both sets of speakers are just running off the deck atm. Should i amplify both, the fronts, or just the rears. Where do i mount the amp? what kind of amp should i get? wouldnt mind keeping it all pioneer.
I have stripped it all out ready to start preparing.
I dont need to post pics of the boot as you all know what it looks like. Have had a look at some of the boot installs in here but want to keep weight to a minimum and still for it to look nice and tidy.
What are your suggestions oh fidelity wise ones?
Chris

get lots of screens hahahah lol nah really... depends what u want
if u go subs id just go a nice prefab box, and make some mounting boards up for the amps. this means just the original mounting them on either side of the boot. however, if u just wanna amp the speakers, i'd mount it under one of the front seats. of course, if u wanna amp the speakers (sounds sooooo much better, just amped mine in the feroza and huuuuge difference, also have magnas amped.) i'd amp front speakers and rear, and dont worry too much on the tweeters (they only deal with the high pitch sounds.) and defo go @ least 400w rms 4 way amp. can also make false floors etc, but that takes a fair amount of time, and u also have to remove it all when u get a flat:P
i'll show u mine once i fix my boot release cable (grrr) if u wanna get some ideas...also, if u need a template for the boot mounting boards, pm sjh350, pretty sure he still has them.

seeing those speakers are 80W RMS, they'd get a massive boost from being amplified (can't remember what power decks are running at the moment, but i doubt it would be 1/4 of what they can handle)
what sort of budget are you looking at?
the biggest 4ch amp i could see on pioneer's website is the GM-6300F, which is 4x60W RMS and a RRP or $330, slightly small-ish although would probably be enough

so the rating i am looking at is the nominal rating? ie, the speakers are rated at 330W, but 80W nominal, and amps are given this rating as well. IE, the pioneer amp is 60W nominal so there will be a 20W power difference? Is this correct?
Really, tho, if there are better amps for your money out there than pioneer, i would be happy to go with that brand. I just have used pioneer since i got my license in all my cars.
Budget on the amp, probably no more than $500.

Nah, The more expensive amps, (i.e. not your BOSS audio amps) will quote it in RMS..
So the 60x4 will be correct, but with speakers they usually have MAX, and quote nominal somewhere else on the box..
I'd be looking for a 2nd hand jaycar 4x100, or even the new 4x100 which is as small as a 2x50..
