I have a TR Executive wagon. Can anyone tell me if my wiring loom has the connection for the analogue clock? I have a factory clock from an SE/Verada, which just clips into place neatly.
Many thanks in anticipation.

No luck my friend. No plug ti somply clip in.
you wil have to run some new wires down to the head unit and tap the power and then to a dash light for the light in it
there are 2 earths and two power wires. one that it constant power. one turns the light on.

Could some kind Magna expert tell me how to feed the clock wires down to where I can pick up constant +ve battery and dash lights battery?
Do I need to remove the instrument cluster and /or radio for example?
Also what is meant by the term "head unit" ?
Thank you in hope.http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/images/smilies/asmile.gif

Yeah, remove the centre console bit (get used to doing this, and you'll soon have 'em out in 2mins), get some long wire and feed it through the hole for the clock, put your hand through the stereo section and grab the wire when it appears there. With prior planning, you can figure out how to connect it up so you can remove your stereo etc. without having to disconnect your clock.
And when pulling out your clock in future (eg to replace a bulb), make sure you snag the top end of the wire so you don't have to thread it back through again! (the way the hole is made makes it very difficult to get the wire through from the back)

Thank you for that information. Does the centre console need to come completely out?
I mean what about the auto transmission gear lever?

Thanks. I realise that now. I have just removed and refitted the console in a practice run.
I'll go ahead next weekend and try to fit the clock. Perhaps someone can tell me if the console with the padded lid can be fitted as a direct replacement?

Yeah, you'll need the whole console though as the rear section is raised. Pretty sure it only came out in TS models >

Nope, TR console is flat, TS console is raised towards the rear...
Ive put the TS console lide on my TR console and thought something isn't right here, Purchased a TS centre console with the lid and realized the difference :d

Just finished fitting clock. Quite straightforward.
Thanks to everyone who offered suggestions and advice.
Connected clock constant +ve to red/green on radio and dash light +ve to white/green on radio. Earths to chassis.
Clock cost less than $10 on eBay. It's a very stylish addition.
I'll consider the padded console next as my tapes (yes tapes, original radio/cassette) rattle in the open console.
This site is soooo! helpful.
Luv ya.

Come on, buy a CD player.
I've seen Pioneer are doing a CD tuner with MP3/WMA capability (on CD) for about $150. Not hard to wire in, with a bit of advice.
You know you want to...

Family bought me an 8gb iPod for my birthday so no need for tapes or CD player now. Already have all the albums of Bob Dylan, Cat Stevens, Beatles and Creedance loaded.
Excellent.

I'm guessing he means he now has one of those radio tuner interfaces so he can play his IPOD direct to his radio/cassette player in his car.
Bet it would sound a lot better if you did upgrade as fer0x said - modern stereos have so much more power and sound a lot better.
