is a smash repairs place as good as any to get my colour coding done, and also getting my rear bar painted and fitted?

just atm kelmscott smash repairs have done all the repairs on my front end and they said they will colour code my front grilles, fog lights etc. haven't got a quote yet but how much should i be looking at. also looking at colour coding my side mirrors.

probably looking at about 400 and up from a smash shop mate

they may do it cheaper since they done your front end... but it would have been a better idea to get it done at the same time

they will DRASTICALLY overestimate the hours needed to do the work, and thus the price will be quite inflated as well because of it.

Remove and refit, somewhere around the 2hour mark i would think for the rear bar @ somewhere around 35bucks an hour
half an hour for the grille remove and refit @ 35/hr
paint is the killer @ at least 50 an hour for a base white, and 87 an hour for anything metallic (if you have pearls or the like.. keep hiking the price up) and the would allow for 3.5 hours i recon.

add your misc fees into it as well - somewhere around 50bucks i would think.
and theres your price that you can expect to pay:
70 + 17.5 + 200 (for s1) 348 for a metallic
white (s1) = $337 (inc misc)
metallic (m1) = $685......

the hours that they quote you.. are generally around 3times the time needed to do the work - but they gotta make the money to pay the guys that are doing the work somehow...
