I test fit a set of 18"s on the Pookmobile (yeah .....she stole my verada  ) and they hit just about everywhere.
Whos got 17"s on their TR/S that dont touch anywhere?
What size are the tyres and rims and what offset have you got?
Any constructive advice would be appreciated :D
The car is stock height, not lowered.
She'll probly pick something ghey anyway, I just want em to fit lol

where is it rubbing sounds like it might be the wrong offset. tufftr has 19s with 235/35 and heaps have 17s VRX and Ralliart rims on there 2nd gens.

I have 17's with 225/35 tyres, they only rub slightly when the car is near full lock, its only soft plastic under the guard anyway so i don't worry about it, if its that bad just cut away some of the plastic where they are rubbing.

They touched the plastic at the front (BFHD) and the body at the back of the wheel on the respective locks (screeech smoke OMG WTF etc).
I was hoping someone knew what width and offset they had that didnt touch.
A local tyre guy said 215/50/70 on 17 x 7;s with factory offset
Everyone seems to have 17's or bigga, they cant all be rubbing .......... can they?:)

if people are running the 3rd gen VR-X rims on 2nd gens, that rim is a 17x7 ET46 (I believe).
hope that helps.
cheers,

You will need wheels with no more that 40+ offset otherwise it will stick inside too much.
Stock Verada: 205/65R15 15x6, 46+.
Fitting 3rd gen VRX 225/50R17 17x7 46+ will cause it to be 10mm closer to the suspension
and stick out 10mm further.
However, 225/50R17 17x7 40+ will cause it to be 4mm closer to the suspension and stick
out 16mm.
With the 18" wheel, what is its width and offset and what size tyres were on it. Don't
forget that you need to maintain the ovearll diameter. The stock diameter is 647mm which
means the ideal 18" wheel/tyre combo is 235/40R18 18x8 with 38" offset with an overall
diameter of 645mm. However, it will stick further in 7mm further and sticks out 23mm
further. The latter may cause it to become illegal.
Use the wheelmaster (http://www.wheelsmaster.com/rt_specs.jsp) website for help.

Really ........ picsorban :D
i have 17 inch AMC wheels with 235/35 tyres.
i think the offset on them is +38 and they only rub on full lock with more than two ppl in the car.
i thought for the longest time that they were scrubbing out round corners too but that turned out to be the mud flaps scrapping on the ground cos of the ridehight lol. sounds the same

Sorry to burst your bubble but you do realise your tyre and wheel combo are illegal on two
accounts:
1. 235 wide tyres are illegal on 7" wide rims which is the width of the VRX 17" rims.
Minimum requirement for 235 wide tyres are 7.5" rims. This is why all those with 17x7" rims use 225/50R17 tyres.
2. 235/55R17 would be way too big for your car. Considering your originals would be
205/65R15. The 235/55R17 is 6.7% bigger, that is a difference of 43mm which is more than twice the legal amount of 15mm. When your speedo indicates 60, you will actually be doing 64.

Hey Ol Fart, I got ROH Mantis 5/114.3 35P (whatever that means) 17 x 8 with 225/45 x 17 tyres on a 1996 TS elite wagon. No rubbing anywhere, but the car is not lowered as yet. I do not know the offset on these, I will find out soon. I do not expect any rubbing after lowering as it all looks pretty good all round.

35p means 35mm positive offset. When I lowered my ks by 38mm, it rubbed the front of the
splash guards on full lock. I had 225/50R16 on 16x7 40+ wheels. I used cable ties to pull
out the splash guards a little and no more rubbing.
