i want to take those plastic guards off from under the motor (easier for C.A.I) but i dont know if its safe to do so. has anyone else takes theres off

Rip em off, there just annoying.

Most have been taken off, and so have most manifold covers. (in my experience)

its not bad for the underneath.. eg rocks stones...

I just cut out a part where i needed my CAI to sit. I prefer to keep it as it helps keep engine bay clean esp. when its raining and spray goes everywhere

yeah i think ill take em off tomorrow. the plan was to just cut out the where i needed to put the piping. but this would probaby be easier. apart from keeping the car clean is there really any use for them.

They are there to keep splash water out of the engine bay. Alternator / starter motor may get sprayed with muddy water when you drive through puddles, and die prematurely - keep them on!

yea they are a pain in the **** to get on and off, but imo prob better to keep them on. or take em off when you are working in the area, and put em on after. I've cut a hole or 2 in mine just to make it easier to get to certain screws etc (eg the bottom radiatior hose).

But def better to keep on imo, My short story... once it rained a fair bit and I had just had my splashguards off servicing something (dont remember :P) and I drove thru a puddle.... my car shuddered... and shuddered some more.... and yeah, it drove like ****. but good old WD40 helped me out there haha.

so yeah if you do decide to take em off keep a can of WD40 in your toolbox just in case bits get wet. Works wonders.
