Looking for a heavy duty clutch for my impending manual conversion.
So far the best price i've got for an Exedy heavy duty clutch kit is $675. This includes a clutch disc, clutch cover and thrust bearing.
I know Xtreme Performance Clutch also do a heavy duty clutch kit for the Magna which also includes a clutch disc, clutch cover and thrust bearing. Still need to get a price for this clutch kit.
Does anyone know where i can get either of these clutch kits for the cheapest price?
And i'm presuming since both clutch kits don't come with flywheels or pressure plates, these 2 items should come with the manual gearbox that i buy?

i know not directly on topic here, so dont spank me...
but i thought you was selling your rada?
or have you decided to keep it and convert to manual and have much fun with the supercharger?
have you checked ebay maybe for a reputable dealer / seller of them?

Yes, keeping the Verada and going all out.
eBay doesn't have any heavy duty clutch kits for the Magna, only OEM replacements from what i've seen.

Also looking at LSD options as well.
There is Quaife and Kaaz which are both around $1.6K each.
There is also the Ralliart Magna gearbox with LSD but that's rare as.
What's the better LSD between Quaife and Kaaz?
Anyone know of any cheaper prices than these?

I'll grab the part number off the Quaife LSD I have sitting at the mechanics... hopefully there's a way to get these a little cheaper than the $1800 someone is selling them for.
cheers,

well, considering the Ralliart diff is out of the FTO, one would think that the Quaife unit for an FTO would wit into a magna.
I am doing some extra research, so guys, if anyone knows the Quaife part number for the Magna lsd, could you let me know.
Now, as far as I know only once company brings in quaife FTo diffs into the country, but, we may be able to source them from overseas.

Haha yeh found that out today after doing some more digging around.
I've settled on an Exedy heavy duty clutch kit (clutch, pressure plate, thrust bearing) and Xtreme Performance lightened flywheel (rated at 4.5 kg). Grand total for all this should be about $1100 which is pretty good methinks.
Still need to find a manual gearbox however

Are you talking about the pink-coloured "Sports Tuff" Exedy organic HD clutch? If so, $675 seems a bloody good price. Not long ago when I got mine, I rang around a bit and couldn't find one cheaper than $800. From memory the pressure plate it comes with has +25% clamping force over factory.

I think you'll find the Kaaz units are FTO units, and are apparently just rebadged Cusco. In which case, they seem to have a tendency to break, so steer well clear of them IMO.
I'd much rather have a torsen type Quaife LSD (well I do :P) than a Cusco/kaaz clutch-type LSD in a daily driver. Reason being the torsen units feel just like an open diff in normal driving, whereas the clutch-type units tend to clunk/vibrate/skip in tight turns at low speeds.

Well. I know this clutch is pretty good on the street. Bites a bit harder than stock, but is very easy to get used to. I prefer it over the stock clutch.

the box that had my Quaife LSD in it had been vandalised and the part number has been removed. I can't imagine who would have done that ()?
anyway, I have a query in with Quaife and hopefully I'll get an answer in the next couple of days.
the only reference my mechanic could find was M7R on both the paperwork and the part.
but, after some digging on the 'net, I think I might have found it...
76.309.180 used in the FWD Eclipse from 2000 to 2005 (turbo and V6 versions).
or it might be 76.309.185 used in the Eclipse GT V6 from 2006 on.
like I said, hopefully Quaife will get back to me shortly.
cheers,
