When Nick got beaten by the XR6 TURBO twice the last time, Nick decided to build the fastest Street Cred N/A Magna...

Just half an hour ago, Nick Raced the new Commodore SS and Nick was NOT Happy with BlackBeast's Performance.... BlackBeast was not able to keep up with SS after the first GEAR! :x :x :x :x :x

Nick will now look into NOS after NA build up...

dont mean to put salt over wounds now... but the VY SS does put up numbers (even with the pre-historic pushrod design, so-called IRS w/ trailing arms etc etc... :roll: )

I used to be able to keep up with the new SS up till third.... but it just blew me today...

My car has RPW extractors, K&N Filter with Heatshield, RPW Short Shifter, MagnaFlow Muffler, Adj. Strut Bar... some other non-sensical shits..

I have also got the FPR and Cams more than a month ago, they're just collecting dust in the house LOL.... haven't installed them... but.......

In 2 days... the car will be in the workshop to have the FPR, Cams, RSM GP, AFC installed. Not so sure about the RSM and AFC working in a magna but... it it doesn't... RSM is for sale!

After the surgery... I will dyno it.. hence a dyno day for Melbourne based magnas!!!!

that's bloody weird i can normally take on xr6's and ss's with my 3.0 with the same mods as you but i have a panel filter not pod

well i saw a brand spanking xr6 turbo flying around wakefield park and i cant say i was wowed but then again i cant say ive raced one.

hey widow maker.... i was just wondering.... what type of mods do u have..... and what model car do you have ? .... also ... if u dont mind.... what cars can u beat/keep up with ?

i wouldnt recommend NOS to any novice people loose it easy with shots of nos , its just somthing for the pro's

i can feel ya nick... i had a similar experience. i wasnt racing but just wanna pass a set of yellow lights... i stepped on it... just to c the gap between me and the white BA turbo widen ... it was as if i remained stationary :(

anyway, ur list of mods is impressive !! keep up with the good work... and do fill us on on ur new cams et al. \:D/

dude, the XR6T is a 240kW, 6 second flat 0-100 car - even a ralliart magna is going to have issues keeping up with one off the line all things being equal.

I'll be very interested to see what sort of times and power a magna with the RPW cams pulls though but my gut feeling is that anything short of the RPW turbo kit isn't going to catch one of those (or the VY SS or SV8) any time soon :(

I'll take it on when I'm finished doing what I have planned ;)

Not sure if I'll beat it..but I'd give it one helluva run for it's money.

i would be conserned about catching the SV8 before the SS as the SV is lighter and quicker then the SS in every aspect. 8)

Dude i saw it myself around a racing track and it wasnt anything special

yeah nick, dont bash yourself up about it... chances are the high power cars you've raced before didnt get good starts, or maybe were autos!... i know i have lost plenty of races to the BIG BOYS(220kW+)... but most were a lot closer than i though i would get!!

If any of the BIG BOYS cars get a good hard launch, (Edited, sorry people :cry:) ,physics prevails, and we are going to have a hard time keeping up with them...

But its oh so much fun when we do keep up and/or win!!! :badgrin:

Mate had a manual VRX out the toher nite...from d lights itd stay with a Brand new clubby...from 80k rolling start itd mnch it for dinner :)

Hes had out an VT SS with exhaust, chip , filter n CAI and a stock BA XR6 turbo munched him!

The XR6 turbo n XR8 are pretty even when raced thow!

its all well and good to race these things in a straight line - but what about the true racing - hammering around the track!!

yeah putin them on the track is a whole different ball game....that then comes down to handling and quickness of acceleration, brakes etc and driver of course.....any bozo can learn to drag in a straight line easy

Sad to admit, but SS bombos are pretty quick and the SV8 quicker again. the SV8 boasted a top speed of about 270 clicks in Motor POCY! Dont worry if you lost, the car you raced is in a different class anyway. Im not defending holden in anyway by the way.

The turbo claims 240kw at the flywheel and 195kw at the wheels. the XR8 on the other hand claims 260kw at the flywheel but only manages 180kw
at the wheels.

This is why its slower that the turbo, and also because its heavier as well.

don't get me wrong, i'm a competitor from way back.... shit me and my brothers used to race matchbox cars when we were little!!! then motor bikes (just a pitty mum & dad wouldnt allow us to go in competitions , or buy better bikes :? , we heavily modded the ones we had though :badgrin: ), i've played rep level in several different sports and damn i hate loosing. But i choose not to beat my self up if someone with an obvious advantage beats me... i learn from it and choose how to apply what i've learnt!

also in the new motor the have APS XR6T with 235kW rear wheel power!!! 0-100 in 5.4 sec (and they said lots of scrabbling for grip) and 400m in mid 13's, all for a $1500 from standard car

I was surprised when They put a brand new Ralliart with only 16km's on the clock on the dyno at the autosalon and it only managed to pull 108kw's at the front wheels...

How very strange... 180 at the fly down to 108 at the wheels... odd...

They produce a little more power once run in - you really shouldnt be redlining a car that new - is not good for it!!
