hey
i am going to be doing a custom boot thingy
i will be running 3 amps 2x 2ch and 1x4ch heres how its gunna be
4ch will run 2x10'' subs and the other 2 channels will be shared between 2x6x9s and splits
2x 2ch amps will be running the 2x 12" subs (each 12'' sub will be bridged)
but how will i run 3 amps from 1 head unit?
i am thinking rca's out to a pair of rca splitters then 4 rca splitters off those?
will this work? i know it will provide enough leads for all channels but will the head unit put up with it? its an average unit 4x55 i think
thanks

almost positive you will need a capacitor mate

why not run the 4ch for the speakers, and the other 2ch amps for the subs?
do you amps have an output on them? if they do then use this to loop the signal from on amp to the other, but you can only do this if they are running the same thing (eg. two amps to run the fronts) if not the rca splitters will be needed, but i would only use two splitters for one RCA cable running from the deck
does your deck have 3 pre-outs?
i run 3 amps off of my h/u no worries, but i have two monoblocks so i just just two RCA splitters

No he wont. Capacitors are a bandaid.
MR_WOODY_TJ I think you should take your sig advise, less is more.
Running different size woofers is going to be nightmare. Easiest thing to do it either:
Use the 4ch for the speakers and a bridged 2ch to a single sub, yes that means only 2 subs in total. OR
Use the 4ch amp to run 2 subs and use a 2ch to run the fronts and the second 2ch to run the rears.
Their is no point doing the customer boot thing if it sounds like shyt, but at the end of the day its your car. And yes you can run many amps off your headunit, you would just need to use an RCA splitter for the sub(s). The front and rear would use the other 2 outputs if you have a 3 rca output which most are.

yeah i think you could be right.. i will take your advice and Use the 4ch for the speakers and a bridged 2ch to a single sub, i will run the 2 10"s in the mrs car

As I said dude it is your car but not many people on here would tempt 10's and 12's in a boot environment. Perhaps you could mount the 10's in your doors as mid woofers
How many RCA outputs does your deck have?

The only time you may ever need a compacitor, is in a very, very expensive SQ system, where you a milking out every last bit of quality. By expensive, think close to $100,000 or more.
In 99.9% of system, a capacitor is never needed, period. There have been tests done on a SPL system, where using a capacitor has lowered the total db output.
Key to any good audio system. Good battery, good wiring, and good grounds. These will solve every electrical issue audio releated. In some big cases, and upgraded alternator may also be needed.
My advice would be to steer clear of splitters if possible as they can be a problem. I would recomend getting amps that have a preout so that you can hook them up that way. or upgrading your HU so that you have 3 preouts.
I know that alpine amps have preouts on them as i use them:) if you only have one preout then run that to your 4 channel for the speakers then use the preout from that to run the sub amp
and as mentioned different sized woofers in the boot is a no no. mount them in the cabbin :D :D

Exactly. Last car I seen a cap in a SPL / SQ system was about 5 years ago I think that actually won.
Splitters will be fine on the sub section. I.e. if he runs the speakers off the available outputs and then splits the single sub output to run both sub channels wont hurt. The voltage will still be ok and he will never push them hard enough to make clipping an issue for normal music. Only abuse via the volume should do that....

I have 2 sets of audio outs, and 2 600 RMS amps running to 550 subs. Also have another 4 chan amp running splits/6x9's.
Your idea sounds bloody complicated, and an absolute cabling nightmare. Save the money and buy a decent mono and bridge the two 12's off it, and one decent 4 chan for the other speakers.
Edit: Mr Charisma's idea is just as good :P
