Hey guys, this is my first post here, apologies for not properly introducing myself yet, i've been having some major problems with my magna... I'll get into that later. For now i was wondering if someone could shed some light on my (current) problem.

I bought a 2001 VRX Magna, dealer didn't give me a keyless remote for it, so all i have been using is the key to lock/unlock. However today after work i locked my drivers side door and only that door would lock, none of the others would. I tried passenger side and it would lock then instantly unlock again, attempting that a second time triggered the alarm. Also the security light would light up after locking it from the passenger side door (but never when i did it from the drivers side). I can lock the car by doing it manually (going to each door and locking it) but i can foresee it will get annoying very fast.
Basically the central locking is crazy, while i was reading the manual inside the car it randomly unlocked all doors (drivers and both rears were locked), freaked me out lol.
Any ideas on what i should do to get it working? Should i just shell out and get a remote?
Any help with this would be great, sorry again for randomly posting, i'll put up an intro of me + car later on in the week.

There's a tiny little copper strip inside the lock actuator that tells the car that the door's unlocked, and once it gets covered in dirt and corrosion, it sends the wrong signal sometimes - pretty much the opposite of what you're trying to do will happen.

If you feel like taking the trim off the door, you should be able to clean the sensor easily.
