on my vrx the wheel nuts on the front left wheel everynow and then come loose. would this be caused by the studs being slightly threaded? i thought it was the wheel nuts that were the allen key type, but i changed them all to normal ones and its just happened again  they all tighten up pretty good, but yeah, any help or opinions would be good thanks.

Not sure, never had this problem before... I would suggest giving them a heap of loctite and then putting them back on but I dont know if the bond would be strong enough or if it would resist the heat...

how dirty are the threads / wheel nuts?
if there is bits of grit and dirt and stuff in there - and on the wheel surface that the nut pushes against, then as the dirt and grit gets worn away by pressure and vibrations from driving (and heat) then there would now be a tiny gap...
that can cause the wheel nuts to loosen up over time.
how long does it take roughly for them to come loose?

Is there grease or oil on the studs?
How tight are you doing them up?

got the tyres and rims and nuts changed last week. so... bout a week? last set of rims had covers over the centre of the rim i think thats wat was holding the nuts on last time :D but you'd think think the tyre centre would have cleaned the studs if they were dirty. or maybe over looked it. but i also give the car a really really really really hard time. clunking noise only started last night after making a left turn at bout 70k's was wet so span a lil.

dont loctite the wheel nuts. Tyre places rarely check the wheel studs. I can safely say they would have rattled them off and back on again and will not have checked the tension afterwards. Most places will be using a 1/2" rattle gun as well. If they are slightly threaded, i would suggest changing the studs. If you cant afford 20 of them then maybe get 12 and change 3 per wheel, then when you can afford the rest do that.
The threads should be done up dry, if they are lubricated, and done up with a torque wrench, the lube will cause an incorrect tension reading.
