I'd say that it's the clear coat going too. No other option but to get it repainted.

A respray on that part and a good cut and polish / wax on the remainder of the vehicle otherwise it'll go to.

the roof on my 02 advance started doing that in a few places, and the bonnet in places where stone chips are, the paint underneath is getting little bumps like goosebumps, only option is to respray, not that costly, I'm getting my roof, bonnet, front bumper sprayed and a new windscreen for $720 + $80 extra to paint and fit the VRX spoiler I got.

This isn't going to help where there is no clear coat but megs scratchx is an awesome product, while your at supercheap buy an orbital buffer.

StratchX is a good product, but it's designed for hand use, so buying a random orbital isn't going to achieve much. Plus, the Supercheap orbitals are crap - they'd be fine for applying a polish or whatever, but for actual paint correction, they're useless. Remember, you get what you pay for.
Still don't know what relevance that has to clear coat fading though

They suck.
Got a new angle grinder type polisher, retails for $66 and is somthing like 1400w with variable speed compared to those $40 POS's which are like 130W.
