As in the doors of verada's etc. I'm putting in power windows tomorrow and would like to wire these up.

Can i wire the red/black wire to the door open switch and ground the other (yellow wire)?? Or can someone tell me how it is wired in.

Thanks

going by the wiring diagram (and by other members)
the extra wire is just another earth.
So, give power to your door light (from the elec window motor would be good), and then earth it to the extra wire.

That'd be permanently drawing would it not?? if i wired the p/w to constant 12v that is... ahh gay that'll make it alot easy to just wire it all (inc p/w) to an accessories power source.

No because its only getting power when your door is open, THUS lighting up your door light.

NFI what your on about now mate sorry

I'd guess from what Tuffy's saying, one wire goes to power (such as the blue for your power windows), the other one attaches to your door switch, which earths it when you open the door?
From another thread recently, I take it that there is a two-pole door switch out there for cars with courtesy lights, the standard pole for the interior lights, and another pole that exclusively triggers that door's courtesy light.

Oh, and I wouldn't power the windows off the power mirror, I reckon it wouldn't have been rated for that kind of current.

i think it should be fine to double up on the single earth switch.

Also i'm going to power the windows off the h/u.

Id just go into the fusebox mate, dont short cut these things, they draw alot of power so your gonna have troubles having the CD player up full baw and putting ur windows up and down lol

Are there any slots in the fuse box with unused power wires coming out already or would i have to insert electrical components that i don't know to run the wire and put a fuse in.

Also are we talking the internal fusebox right?

In the fusebox in the engine bay, when u look at the fusebox cover there will be a slot for a power window relay with no relay in there, go wreckers, grab a relay and make sure u pay for it or else its considered stealing  put it in the power windows socket, and im pretty sure (ill check today im about to go do wiring now) there is a blue wire coming off one of those prongs and you use that as your + :)

Or, just wire it up to a constant earth, it's cool being able to put your windows down with no keys in the ignition.

my windows are pemantly fed so i can put them down without the keys in the barrel. if you have the windows hooked up to accesories you cant connect the courtousy lamps to the window feed. wont work until accesories are switched on.

How would you be able to do that? Could you do that for all the windows by just earthing one wire? Im very interested in this if its easy enough.

very simple, find the relay that controls the power windows and bypass it so you always get power.

Never run the power windows without a fuse, I got some nasty burns all over my hands from doing that.

yeah today decided hooking to permanent power. Can easily put a fuse in as mitsubishi showed me today. 2 spade connectors onto either side of a fuse perfect.

Hopefully have them working tomorrow. Ran all the wiring today, nothings connected.
