I had my front brake pads replaced and the discs machined on thursday. Driving back I noticed my speed alarm was set to '--'. I pressed the button to set it back to 65 but it won't change. Before I take i back to the brake place and ask what happened is there any tricks to make it work again? Been a leadfoot I sorta need it... How could messing with the front brakes mess it up?

mine would reset whenever it suited itself, mostly after I had driven somewhere, stopped the car, gotten out and started up again within 30 mins or so.

When I first got the car, had the speed alert set at 65, trying to behave around town. Unfortunately, I had failed to take into consideration that the roads I travel to work are either 70 or 80's. I think the speed alert got adjusted up that same day :D

Went out the other night, out of town, had the speed alert set at 115, the sat nav was set at 80. got to the first bit of highway and they both went nuts at me. First thing I did when I got to my destination was turn them both off. (once I had worked out how to turn off Lucy, the sat nav. Yes my sat nav is called Lucy! The wife asked me what my car was called, 'nothing' was my reply 'it doesn't talk to me!'
