In the process of fitting the TS out with all Fusion gear. I know that Repco sell the basic line of ENCOUNTER stuff, but I'm looking for more high end stuff, like their REACTOR and POWERPLANT stuff.

I have just fitted it with the cheaper ENCOUNTER gear, but want to give the old girl a little more class...

Does anyone know of anyone who sells the more high end Fusion stuff in Melbourne who actually has stock out to play with, preferably in the west/north western suburbs?

Dude there is no difference between the encounter and the powerplant gear except for the colour. Well that was the case 2 years, I'm sure it hasn't changed.

Any reason for Fusion? Why not go Hertz or Focal or Boston Acoustics?

Yeah dude if you want more "class" don't think that Fusion is the bee's knee's

2nd on not adding fusion if you want class.
Almost anything is better, lol. If you want to get your car to have more cool feature, take a look at the double DIN DVD + touch screen units, JVC's start at around $800-$900

Thirded, Fusion is pretty average gear, and unless you're one of those cool kids who likes neons, it's pretty ugly too.

haha yeah, probably the only half decent thing about the car at the moment is my cruddy wipers... I'll have a search around the place and see what other pics I got..

In the old car, had my Fusion stuff in there, and just liked it ever since. Had my first car fitted with Sony stuff and just loved the Fusion stuff more so... like the look of em, love how they sound, may not be as classy as some other brands, I just like em... Plenty of better stuff out there, Fusion just works well with what I listen to...

For speakers, look at MTX Thunder series. I have these just running off an Alpine headunit and they sound bloody brilliant.

I have heard that Polk is pretty decent too

Yeah, dont mind JVC stuff, never heard anything bad from them... A mate was willing to part ways with a 200w JVC HU for 100$, no bluetooth or anything. Was thinking about it, but I'm just gonna live with my half dead Blaupunkt head unit for the moment.

Having said all that, I will do a little shopping around when work permits and see what else is around. The 6x9's in the back, even though they are the ENCOUNTER 6x9's sound freakin awesome for what I paid for them, and they work much better for me than anything else I have had.... And the sub is pretty nice for what it is, even if it is only a 10".

i have used fusion in the past, had a power plant sub, was not to bad but nothing special.

Try Garys Car Radio for any of the higher end stuff. or even Hektic car audio in Coburg

If you're chasing reasonably cheap gear... I'd probably go a JVC head unit, Focal Access series front splits (6"), no rear speakers (stocks off the deck if you're desperate), Coustic 4 Channel amp, MTX Thunder 12" sub... All obtainable from Autobarn, Wow and JB Hi-fi :) Good entry level system right there that sounds decent for the price, a lot better than Fusion for a little bit more.

Haha, I like your style in using the rules, you get a gold star!

And second on JVC being good gear :P Don't buy the BT1 from ebay, you'll find it for similar prices in aust shops clearing them out and you get an aussie warranty with it.

Yeah, originally got the encounters from Repco, only place I've spotted thus far, but they only stock the Encounter stuff, and I wanna play around a little first before buying.

Yeah, I definitely give credit to JVC, they are pretty sweet, and as far as price, I'll be doing this over a long period of time, so yeah, investing little by little, money aint really a factor... see what good deals I can score, but yeah, will keep an eye out on not just Fusion stuff. As I said before, for what I listen to, they sound freakin sensational!
