Most of you all already know what this thread is about, and the rest of you should know that I've lost my TP wagon, written off late last month.

I was driving up near Lobethal one night on the way to Adelaide, lost control on a long sweeping corner. And no, speed was not a factor. There was some gravel on the road but I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it. Apparently the corner that I came off on is a real bad corner and the guy that owns the property there has had 2 more come off at the same spot over the last few months.

Sucks to have so much taken away from you in just a couple of seconds. Had a couple of seconds to try and regain control of the car but didn't manage to. As I went off the road, I managed to miss 4 trees and slotted between 2. Clipped one of the mirrors off and clipped the back rear end corner of the wagon aswell, which caused the car to aim downwards as I caught air and went off a ridge. Car dug in, spun around 90 degrees, rear wheel dug in, spun another 90 degrees and rolled down the hill a bit.

Got out the car straight away, not a scratch on me. Released from hospital at 5am that night. Thanks to the girlfriend, family, and friends - those are the only things that matter in the end.

Anyway, here are the pics.

So sorry to hear about it mate, but you did real well to not hit a few trees which you would of been much worse off in the end with that outcome...
Start fresh man and make a better one this time :D

Couldn't agree more! A car is a small price to pay for escaping without permanent injury!

Like I said over on the other club, at least you were able to walk away from that, very lucky indeed. Glad to hear you're alright.

Feels a little darker now that the legendary TP Wagon is gone, but it sure left an imprint on AMC's various members rides, not just limited to first gens. Best of luck with the new Magna mate, i'm sure you'll be able to create another automotive masterpiece. (that is, if you choose to)

Neos wagon was the best first gen i have ever seen in person. i first found these forums when trying to figure out how to install a hu. and here i found neos wagon.

it became my inspiration, and im sure the inspiration of many other first genners. i wanted a car like neos.
im glad i got to see the real thing, even tho it wasnt at its best. it was still better than any other first gen ive seen.

this car will continue to live on through these forums and through our cars, and it will take alot of work and effort before another wagon can match this one.

Mate, so so sorry to read this. :doubt:
That was a very nice 1st gen wagon

Although, as sad as it is to see this, I'm so happy to hear you're okay. :D
Sounds like you have your priorities right though.

Looking forward to seeing what your next ride will be.

Oh Bugger Man... Glad you're Ok anyway.

Shame about the car though, I loved that thing. Definately looked the part, it's gotta be one of the nicest looking 1st gens in Australia. Ahh well, it's only a car and like everyone else has said, the most important thing is that you are OK. You did pretty well to come out of it without a scratch ;)

If there are any salvageable parts I could be interested if you still have the car too mate. It can live on in spirit through my car haha.

Got any updates for us Neo?

Are insurance paying? Have you thought about a new ride yet?

Hey all, thanks all for your comments. Yes a lot of time and money went in to the car, and it hurts just looking at pictures of it. It was one of a kind, and I had recently rebuilt the engine with my own hands.

Most of the go fast parts have been sold off, there are only a few bits left. Mild cam and solid lifters are left, and high flow throttle body (sold pending payment).

The accident was on a Saturday night and I went out on the monday and bought myself a TF outright (government pays me way too much) after looking at cars all Sunday. Will post up some pics soon. :P

Thanks again for your support guys.

Glad to hear you are back in a Magna!!!!

This thread was getting a bit depressing with all the mourning going on about your car. Maybe we should all walk around in black for a day....

I am pretty optimistic and the way I see it, now you have a new opportunity to build another great car :D

Better late than never,

Haven't been here for ages and come back to see this.

The SA first gen boys better take care, 2 awesome Magnas gone in a short space of time.

I can relate to the money spent on these cars and I would be shattered if it happened to me.

Stay safe! Cars can be destroyed but memories live forever.

I'm allowed to joke. I've been through it before myself. Twice. It still hurts, though.

 Ouch! Very sorry to hear that  Glad your ok though!

It's was a very nice 1st gen! I'm surprised at how much of a beating they can take in a car accident! mines still damaged from the accident I had still have worked out if its really worth it after the damage I did! but I didn't wanna take photos :)

But it was weird driving without a back window! and it makes alot of noise stop starting and turning corners! lol I must learn to stop rambling!

Just saw that and I'll add my ouch to everyone else's.

Interesting to see you say speed wasn't a factor, maybe it didn't cause/create the accident but speed whatever speed legal or otherwise you were doing must have been a factor. I've been in crash where although doing the legal speed, it was one of the factor's considered as part of the crash.

Seriously though I am glad you did not hurt yourself and even gladder(sp?) your now in a 3rd gen.
