hello all just replaced a blown interior light thought i would replace it with the kind that have three little leds in the glass bulb, problem being when it is switched to come on when doors open it lights up bright as normal but after a while when the light is supposed to go out it actually stays on but much dimmer barely enough to light through the plastic case. so for instance when i unlock the car light comes on bright when i lock the car there is still a very faint light coming from interior. if i manually switch the interior light to off then there is no light at all. So essentially there is a small amount of current flowing through the light when car is in a "standby - Locked" im guessing there always was but because leds are so efficient it lights up with the small current. Is this normal? and do you think it would cause much battery drain overnight once again i guess not cause radio and car alarm leds flash all night no problems .

cheers

I would ditch it as those LED's give out crap light anyway, just put your festoon one back on. well i know the 3-led variants give out terrible light

how many do you have interior?
Are yours wired straight to a constant circuit?
I put mine to the ciggie for that reason that I was scared id leave them and drain the battery

Go to JayCar and get those ones with the high intensity LEDS (http://www.jaycar.com.au). I've got them in my car.
Very nice.

Search for ZD0485

the jarcar ones I posted above are excellent. Those with centre dome lights at the front
know how furstrating it is searching for stuff in the rear footweels. The Jarcar ones are
bright enough to see the rear footwells. Also, left it running overnight once, the dome
cover was still cool to the touch and no drain on the battery. Try that with standard lights.
