I have a 7" Eonon in dash double din DVD in mind for my front dash......

It only has four speaker outs....my Chaser has a 8 speaker set up with factory sub.

The question is how do I get to use the full 8 speaker set up with subbie if possible, using the Eonon headunit.

You'd have to split the outputs in two... Half the volume really... would probably sound like ass. Failing that, you have two pairs of RCA outputs, output those to two pairs of splitters to two 4 channel amps and drive the speakers like that.... you'd have to drive the sub via an output from one of the amps if available (rear would be best) to a different amp (2 channel bridged).

Again... won't sound that great..

Easy way - Sell it and buy something that's better designed or upgrade maybe even to to 5.1.

Expensive way - Do what Luke said, BUT, what is the 8 speaker set up? do you mean say, mid and tweet in the front, mid in rear doors and mids on parcel shelf with a small sub there too? No? I'll run with this idea anyway, it could have a very small set of mids in the dash even.. If so the system is probably running just a basic stereo system but with a lot of speakers for wank factor.

Something like this would get you through: Firstly, find the RMS of each speaker and decide where you want to split front and rear, before the rear door mids/coax or after or leave them dead all together.

Buy a really expensive-yet-substandard speaker plus sub amp (5 chan), that way you don't loose a channel running high level inputs for the sub from the 4 chan into the 2/mono amp.

Run the RCA's from said ****house DVD unit to your new probably over $700 ****house amp, run powered speaker wires split somewhere to accommodate all the speakers (say, under the back seat, cut, strip and solder yourself 2 new wires from each rear channel for the 7th and 8th speakers in the rear doors. do this to the front run if it's dash mids (my advice would be just to ditch them as they'll suck the power and it'll end up being ****house) so now effectively you have the rated RMS running to the front channels, which will go to your passive cross-over and from there it'll feed to your mids and tweets, in the back you'll have half the rated RMS per chan going to the speakers - easy. And then your sub, which is probably just a big bass driver, not actually a subwoofer, in say 80hz to 60hz, not really sub territory (my DD sub is low-passed at 50hz - so it doesn't play anything until then). Get it?

My advice iiiiiiiisssssss: Ditch the DVD unit, buy something decent, go to FHRX, buy up some Morel.. no no, dynaudio.. NO NO! Scanspeak gear and start from there..

:What Nick said...

8 speakers will only be 4x sets of splits. This will mean you can run them all off the DVD unit. And yes the factory woofer will more than likely only be a super woofer, not a sub woofer. Perhaps a new amp and sub to replace that...

Don't listen to Nick, Morel will be fine :bowrofl: Also the Oz Audio's and Hertz Mille are a bit of alright in their 3 way set ups.

Yeah my Verada is listed as having 8 speakers, but really it's just four.

Be interested to know what the sound quality from those Eonon headunits is like.

Terrible in comparison to my brother's Sony MEXR1. Had to install one of those Eonon head units into a mate's 300ZX.

:bowrofl: seriously I think people like Tim and Benjames have forgotten more about car audio than I know. I just like to simply it down and help people not make mistakes.

BTW I see you got that $50 that I sent to you Nick :D:D
