Tried to clean 'dirty' spot on Driver side door trim (the part just below the window, typical elbow position for some drivers). I don't rest my arm on the trim and was surprised to find the patch was not dirty, but the colour (dark grey is is coming away). It is a 2002 TJ Advance and I am surprised that it has worn to the point where the colour is rubbing off. Guess the previous owner rested elbow on the trim. My TS with black trim was 100% when I sold it a year ago.
Is the black more durable than lighter colours or has Mitsubishi lowered standards. Now I'm concerned the other light coloured trim in the car will lose it's colour. I am going to buy some vinyl spray and will try rubbing this on the spot. Any ideas suggestions will be welcomed.
Anyone have experience with 'repairing' spots and suggestions as to spraying the spot versus using rag to wipe paint/dye on. Are the aerosols dye or paints? Best brand, type to use. Anyone tried using shoe dye?

You are far better off going to a self serv wrecker and getting a new trim to be honest

The trims are all pretty much the same with only colour being different. The cloth insert is removalbe, just have to get yourself the one for elec or manual windows.

I have the same issue on my drivers door armrest. It would appear that this is only an issue with the two tone trims (the upper section is the main colour & the lower part is over it).
As my door trims are a black/light grey rather than the more common darkgrey/lightgrey, its not feasable to find one at the wreckers . Any help would be brilliant!
