Hey All,

First of all i don't have a 380, i just wanna stop like one. I have been reading here that several people have done the 380 brake upgrade on their magnas and in my search for parts in FNQ i have hit the wall. So i thought i would post here with a few other questions i have.

It is my understanding that the front calipers from the 380 will bolt straight up to a Magna, as this has been done before im sure someone would mention problems if they had any. But what about discs? I dont want standard discs and ive heard that DBA make a slotted 'Wiper' set, however when ive spoken to both Supercheap and Autobarn neither of them had a listing for them. I could get a set of RDA slotteds but i havent heard much about this brand.

As for the calipers themselves I spoke to Mitsubishi spare parts and she asked me if it was for a VRX or not, I asked her if there was a difference and she didn't know. Is there a difference? I have a mate that works there that can get me a good price and he didn't know either.

And lastly; Pads, what pads are you guys using on your 380's and what would you recommend? Ive heard that the stock ones are pretty terrible so i will be staying away from them, but what about Bendix or whatever other brands are available?

Sorry if these questions have been asked before but i did do a search and came up bupkiss.

Thanks,

Kieran

I've got a 380 front brake setup on my 04 Magna.

I got all the parts from a group buy, which totalled just under $1000.

As for all the parts -

DBA do make replacement rotors - in slotted, cross drilled and 4000 series. The basic part number is 2206, which can be changed around to get slotting, cross drilling or 4000 series discs.

The calipers would probably be best off sourced directly from PBR, the manufacturers. All 380s had identical front and rear brake calipers.

You'll need both calipers (B862-387 and B862-388, LH and RH) and both front hoses (H2203 and H2204).

For pads, I've got Bendix General CT at the moment, I had Ultimates but they were far too noisy until they got properly hot.

wouldn't go with the drilled, just the slotted as from experience they tend to crack around the drill holes after repeated heavy applications.
