I've noticed a few posts recently regarding upgraded Camshafts (Cams).
To be honest - I have no idea what all the specs and figures mean, what you can expect from them, or what needs to be done to an engine to fit them (Cost, etc.)

Hoping someone here can shed some light on this, for us noobs and mechanically inept. lol

BJ31OS, Is/Was selling his Cams...
Link: http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=60492
Specs: tighe - 252 Duration

There was an ebay auction posted in the AMC ebay thread recently. (Pics have been attached below as they will eventually disappear off ebay)
Specs: See attached pic.

The Ralliart Magna has different Cams to a stock Magna - I don't know their specs.
However I did find this... http://www.aaa.asn.au/roadtests/reports/371.pdf
...Some of the engine modifications include an increased compression ratio (9.4:1 up from 9.0:1), a high lift camshaft that provides 10% additional lift for improved top end performance, a sports exhaust with stainless steel header pipes, modified cylinder head combustion chamber and a remapped engine ECU...

So what do all the numbers mean?
(...and does anyone know what the Ralliart Cam specs are?)
.

This page explains it well, and has a little calculator down the bottom where you can input came info (i.e from the pic you posted) to get the duration, lobe seperation etc.

throw this 1 into the mix. if you search thru the site u'll find alot of other tech articles that will help you understand it all pretty good. just remember that is is based on pushrod v8 engines, but the basics are the same across the board.
