Car still has problems :(, although, they may still all be related to the original issue which was fixed awhile ago.

Do give you a quick run down of my issues so far. My car was surging under hard acceleration, ended up being the fuel filter. Changed this, and not long after I had massive problems. Turned out to be that one of the injectors was fully stuck open, and has constantly pouring fuel down the cylinder. I got that injector replaced, and another one cleaned.

Ok, now to today.
I have two main problems.
The first is a massive flat spot to about 3-3500 rpm under half, to three quarter throttle. Car will feel like its going, then all of a sudden at the above rpm, goes alot harder. It is very noticeable, and pushes you back into your seat.

The second problem is a rough, low idle, say about 500rpm.The computer then sees whats happening and then raises the idle. The idle is then between 800-1000rpm, fluctuating.

Today I tried to adjust (check) the TPS, and noticed something interesting. According to the MMAL workshop manual, If I turn the TPS fully anti clockwise there should be continuity, and fully clockwise, there should be no continuity. In my car the exact is the case :S Fully anti-clockwise shows no reading (ohms), and fully clockwise does.

Any ideas guys ?

the first thing that comes to mind is a vacum hose has either fallen off or is damaged and letting in air that the airflow meter hasn't read.

After playing with the TPS, and cleaning the Throttle body, the car has changed somewhat.

Car seems to now be alot more responsive (I say thats due to the clean TB, it was much dirtier than I was expecting).

The odd thing is the idle. Upon startup (after the choke is back to normal, open position) the car idles very low, say round 500. Sometimes it will hunt up to about 600, and drop very very low to about 300. At this point the lights dim, and the battery light flashes on, then off again as the revs raise.

Once the car gets warmed up totally, the idle stays at about 600 or so, sometimes going aslow as about 500.

So the car idles good when warm, but, when colder, or upon a second startup, idles very low for some period of time :S

again have you checked all the vacum hoses?

Yes. I will have a complete check tomorrow, or Monday when I get some time.

Knowing my luck, they may be a small tear somewhere that cant be seen.

hey mate, sounds similar to what i had a little while ago and some of the other guys i know.. in my case the tps and maf sensors werend connected 100% correctly..
however mine and the others i know of once the car was warm it would still idle really rough. and still had your fuel related issues... would be interested in seeing some pics of where all these vacuum hoses are.

ok. Spent about the last hour playing with the TPS in the garage. Found a few little, odd things. It seems that the throttle body isnt fully closing, which seems to be causing the major issue in fine tuning the TPS.

Ill adjust it correctly, then test the throttle on position. Then coming off the throttle, sometimes the throttle will "fully" close, causing the TPS to still read zero conductivity. Other times it will almost close, closing the TPS to read slight conductivity.

For now I have tuned the TPS to work with the car. I will need to look into whats causing the throttle body problems. I could do with a really good clean. Ill also try to tighten the accel cable to see if that helps at all.

Car still idles a little rough. I am planning to pull out the injectors and send them off to get cleaned, apparantly, they arnt in the best condition (well 4/6 arnt)
