G'day,
Time has come for new tyres for AWD VRX, I intend on staying with the stock wheels & tyre size (215/60/16) as I do a bit of travel on dirt roads (In laws are on a farm). Have had "sports" GIII's and been very happy with them, only to now find they are being discontinued. I can still get them but was recommended by 3 different dealers (not all bridgestone) to get the "touring" ER 592. 98% of driving is around town or in the country highway, 2% tight twisty fun :D
was wondering what people think of the ER592's or should I get the "last" of the GIII's. or something else?
Thanks,
Johnnyred

I do a bit of dirt road / State Forest etc driving I found my Yokohamas were good value never had a problem with grip or punctures etc. Need to rotate on schedule though to prolong life.:D

Go with the Bridgestone ER300, They are kinda in between a touring tyre and performance tyre. Quite & comfortable with loads of grip. That's my 2.2cents (GST included)

Somewhere in Sydney sells these - http://www.bridgestone.co.jp/tire/playz_pz-1/index.html
I've got them on the fronts, still have heaps of tread. Grippy enough, predictable, quiet. Also have GIIIs on the rear, in the same size. Since they're grey import stuff I imagine they're fairly cheap. Problem is, no idea where they came from - other than it was Sydney.
I had Bridgestone turanzas. No probs with them.

Got the Bridgstone Turanza ER300's and love em.
Yeah as was said, quiet tourer but also very grippy.
I upgraded my 215 60 16 to 225 55 16. Well worth doing.
Best thing i have done to the car. Bit pricy though at nearly $200 a tyre.
Also looks great.

Hi all,
Just a update ended up getting the Bridgestone ER592's for a few of reasons, the dealer said the G III's are all "old" stock as they stop making them in the 215 60 16 size early this year, and for the style and type of driving I do 30% city 70% country better of with a touring tyre. Also the price was really good $137 a tyre compared to the Yokohama's ($187) and the ER300's (225 55 16) $210. (Minister for Finance made the final decision) Just what I have personally noticed is the steering response is a lot more direct and they are quieter. thanks guys for all your input!!!!
