Hoping to get 18's soon and need some tyres for them obviously, don't want to be laying out like 1000 just for tyres so I was sussing out ebay just for round about prices

Whats everyones oppinion on these? Don't want to get grouse tyres just kill them

EDIT: no ebay links!

Load rating seems right so thats a bonus, close to me aswell, obviously quality won't be as good as something twice the price but any major differences?

Cheers

hmm... you could always try them...

The Tyre Factory Bayswater (Melbourne Outer Eastern Suburbs) are apparently Pirelli dealers, I got a set of 4 Pirelli Dragons 235/45/17 94W for about $184 fitted, though they are 17's, I'm sure the 18's won't be too much more expensive. If you are not far away, drop by and get a quote.

They also have an ebay shop with cheap 18's $110 each, I'll PM you the link, I'm not sure if I should put an ebay link in here without out someone expressing their opinion.

Never heard of them and would never touch them.

Don't skimp on tyres, they're the only things that keep you on the road really.

I'd say get some tyres from the US, but given the AUD has gone from US$0.96 to US$0.87 in a month...

... oh, as for the Pirelli Dragons, mate bought a VW Golf with them fitted and he scrapped them when they still had over half the tread left, if that gives you any indication of what they're like.

each to their own I guess, they are still new for me only did about 1000km on them so far and they are hold the road better then my previous set which were Good Year Excellence 225/50/17, though they are slightly thinner. Only time will tell, I know the Good Year got really grippy when warmed up, yet to warm up the Pirellis

Don't trust those americans, as long as I don't drive too stupid I wouldn't think there'd be any problems

Also tyres must have width etc How do I check whether their same size? My rims will be 18x8

they're not that bad, a mate of mine has them on his 17's for his vx ss, they were reasonably soft so they wore slightly fast but they were good in the dry and wets

he's currently using his 18's on his car now and they're wrapped in nankang's, cant remember which but it's the sports version.. it's pretty decent in the dry but in the wet it was going sideways even with traction control on

lol I'm thinking of getting nankangs now, they're about 130 - 150 a tyre

My mates got a fairmont au and you just accelerate and it burns out in wet so its nothing new i guess
