Just wondering for anyone who has tinted windows aftermarket, Do they only put tint film on the outside of the window or on the inside of the car aswell?
Just curious because my inside drivers window has scratches all over it from the coathanger i tried to break into my car with after i locked my keys in there last time and its bugging melol

Tint normally goes on the inside of the car only.

Mine only had the film applies to the inside of the car. As far as I know they only apply it to the inside, I've never heard of the outside before. I had some similar splits in my old tint and it was gone after the new tint was installed.

ah ha, dont i feel dumber now, thats good to hear, i should of stopped with the coathanger before it got out of control, so much scratches all over it.

My mum borrowed my car one day... she went to sit down, holding her office keys in her hand. She left an inch-long gash on the drivers window. Thanks mum :neutral:

I was once told by a tinter that it can be put on the outside but warranty is void. Also, if
your windows are in bad shape, the installer may not want to go ahead with it as it may
affect how it looks. If there are dents/chips etc, then there will be air bubbles.

I've got those faint vertical scratches I'm sure a few of you have seen on the front windows, I'm presuming its in the factory tint on the windows, so I'm gonna have a guess and say if they remove that before they apply darker tint it'll be fine?

you would be surprised,the amount of windows and tint that i have seen scratched etc on the inside due to shielas de-fogging them with the back of their hand whilst wearing a ring is huge,you get this bloody odd circular scratch pattern

OR when they take off a jacket inside the car and the metal zipper hits the window.

Or when your wondow isnt all the way down and you go to grab your maccas from the girl in the maccas window, and as your having a perve at her your ring hits the window glass


Or when you put your window down a bit to give someone a wave for letting you in front of them and once again ring hits the window :cry:

If getting new tinting make sure you at least go 15% or its not worth it. :D

funny thing with mine, i had a massive scratch on my front left window tint and it eventually peeled right up so i decided to pull it off, but there was another layer of tint underneath!!!!

Seen HRD2GT's car lately? 2%! Its night time during the day and at night well.....they've got a lot in common with walls I suppose lol

go %20 metal film... heaps better. with the ability to see out...
