howdy all here is a diy on how to remove factory trims ,all you need is a pair of pliers & a can of bourbon[lol]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
now before we start,[note] you will notice these little clips right round the whole seat
http://img294.imageshack.us/my.php?image=156jl6.jpg
these are called hog rings[one on the left is a factory hog ring one on the right is a aftermarket one]
take your pliers and pinch the hog ring like so
http://img294.imageshack.us/my.php?image=151qm4.jpg
and twist the hog ring like so
http://img294.imageshack.us/my.php?image=152hk5.jpg
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
now to the seat itself
step 1 remove the seat from the car
step 2 remove all hog rings from on top of and underneath the seat
step 3 once all the hog rings from around the outside of the seat have been removed, pull the trim over the seat so it will look like this
http://img294.imageshack.us/my.php?image=154qg3.jpg
step 4 on the right hand side of the seat there will be hog rings holding it down,if you look on the right hand side you will see 3 hog rings holding the material down like so
http://img294.imageshack.us/my.php?image=155dn8.jpg
grab these hog ring s and twist, repeat this process starting from rightside ,then the front ,then the back then the left side
step 5 now the right side of the material should be removed from the foam of your seat, now repeat the same process for the left
,left,front,back,right
now the material should be completely removed from your seat like so
http://img294.imageshack.us/my.php?image=160hc2.jpg
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
this is what a neglected seat looks like[note the darker foam]
http://img294.imageshack.us/my.php?image=159dz9.jpg
this is rotted foam [caused from spilled drinks]
i hope this has helped ,it is a 10min job tops
stay tuned on how to fit aftermarket seat covers
cheers 6sik6
