I seem to be making a lot of threads as of late, anyhow:
Lock nuts? I'm getting 18x8's and I wanted new nuts as the old ones are a bit shabby
However, what measurement do I need? Hopefully i can find out without taking off the tyre if i need to or whatever, also will the rims need certain nuts? thanks
I have a 1998 magna tf wagon
thanks

if you are getting new nuts from a wheel and tyre shop then ask them about a set when you are there, if not then got to a wheel and tyre shop after you get the mags. eitherway it's not that big of a deal.
you will need to get the right nuts to suit the wheel, if you have any doubts just ask a reputable tyre shop or autobarn etc...

I'm thinking of buying the tyres off a decent shop so they can do all the fitment and stuff

You'll get new nuts with the wheels, they should come with ( Buzzi ). If they are aftermarket rims ( which 18's are ), every shop in town will have locking nuts. Just bring a nut in with you. ( I would come in but you're too far away. )

bout $20 for a set of 5 lock nuts, around $2.50 each for regular nuts. Avoid autobarn/supercheap - expensive.

Never got the idea behind lock nuts. Most guys keep the key in the car anyway, incase of a flat.
If someone wants the wheels, im sure they will look in the car, lol

I'd take a stab in the dark and say most people have them on their car keys, which would be with them when they leave the car.

Its not an actual key man, its a type of socket thingo that fits over specific types of lock nuts.
Thats what mine is.
