ok im getting a 380 soon and a green sx has come up but ive got my name down on a ralliart red vrx. which one should i get. if i got the sx id convert it to a vrx. so basically front/rear bar and headlights as the s3, the only diff was those (rims aswell but get aftermarket rims).
so what should i do.

Go the VRX, the blacked headlights make all the difference

Is there any reason other than price to get the SX?

presumably because the green hes talking about is that limited edition one? otherwise there would be no reason to. its only an sx after all.
OT, if it is the limited edition one grab it if not go the VRX rather than turning something into a VRX lookalike.

It’s all down to taste.
The green SX’s over regular SX’s, received the GT alloy wheels, green cloth trim inserts in the seats, and the sunroof. I personally am not a fan of this green on cars.
Also Ralliart Red / Flame red, was never available on VRX 380s. The only red available was Molten.
Adding a SIII VRX spoiler to a 380 works however I would only do this to SX’s or lower or GTL, doing it to a S1 or SII VRX looks strange having both spoilers in my view.
Re other comments on VRX and GT headlights I believe these on some colour cars such as Blue Steel GTs look dated like early Falcon XR6 projector lights, the chrome SX lights can look better on the right colour.

mate - if you wanna convert to a VRX - go series 2
if you want a series 3, then you will be looking at $550 EACH for the front and rear inserts - then on top of that you will need Grill, front and rear bars, foglight brackets and lower front grill mesh - and rear insert, for about a grand retail - you'd be looking at 2 grand for series 3
and none of that includes the rear series 3 spoiler and none of that includes cost of painting and fitting
if your lucky your local dealer may sell you these for trade price

There was one GT that was in that green too.

I'd get the green SX... unless you hate that green, then get the VRX. But if you really want to upgrade a SX to VRX by way of body kit bits, surely the outright VRX would be quicker and cheaper.
My opinion... get the SX, don't modify the body, drop it a few inches and put 19s or 20s on it. It'll be the best of those green SXs after that.

im thinking about the green coz i like it but also rare and converted to s3 vrx would look nuts. if converted id do everything except embroided seats id get tmr instead.
can get most parts cheap so shouldnt cost more than 1500.
but then theres the ralliart red vrx. sexy colour, nice bodykit, respray silver inserts black. do all tmr upgrades except turbo not s/c. HOT

Go Green and unique!
Go the Red! The green looks pretty hot too but after a while imo the green won't have the same impact and will be boring. The red will still hold well + its a VRX! :)

Regarding the VRX bodykit of the green SX, I believe some were fitted with front & rear bars (though maybe only by certain dealers), while most weren't. Here's some pics to illustrate.
I don't recall any GTs coming out in this green though, just a limited run of SXs (though with GT rims).
I still say go the green.

i sorta agree there. the red is just keeps that impact look but a green without sunlight looks bleh.

Ralliart Red / Flame red, was never available on VRX 380s. The only red available was Molten
Therefore unless you are able to get a TMR380 or some kind of test mule that was painted in Ralliart Red / Flame red you need to compare Molten with the Sub Lime / Green

oh how wrong you are. the tmr 380s started life as a vrx in the same colour then was sent to melbourne for the mods. my old man works at tonsley park. he has seen the vrx ralliart red in the flesh. same one that ive got my name on.

mytsgt95, It is good to know that the factory were able to make 100 cars in the Ralliart Red and 4 in Zen. I knew of plans for the Zen cars as far back as July 07 also new of the Ralliart red cars in January. Except for the 20 TMR cars, I thought that none of the other cars were built.
I believe you should get one of the Ralliart Red cars over the green and look forward to seeing photos of it.
It is amazing however that in the almost 5 months since car 32044, the last built, rolled down the line that 1 of the 80 VRX non TMR380 cars has not shown up anywhere in sale ads or on these forums.
The 380 that I have is also an ex factory fleet car, in the list of factory cars I had to chose from nil were in Ralliart red, I wish I had of been able to get a Ralliart Red car.

There is a red (Flame is the proper colour name people! Not "Ralliart Red") ES at Rex Gorell Mitsubishi here in Geelong.

Didn't the green one come with some sort of custom bonnet... or was that aftermarket?
I remember seeing a Brand New green 380 Lm Edition (not sure which model) it had chrome 18's and some custom bonnet with scoops. looked really good

Just found this on the Carpoint used car ads. It is a Series II ES, judging by its VIN number it must be one of the last series II built about a year before production finished. Do not know how I missed these.

You mean this thing? Vile in my opinion, but that's just me.

EDIT: To clarify, when I say "vile" I meant the bonnet scoop thing, NOT the color. I love the green and still push that as the choice here.

go the greeen
even though people will say 'omg red!' because everyone of course wants a red car, the green is different, really how many bright green cars are there around, and besides, the green just in general in my opinion suits the 380 way better and would look freaking awesome VRX'd

:stoopid:
Zactly! With black trim, black mags and headlight inserts etc....
Looking at those I'd be looking for Molten myself, you'll be sick of the green quick, especially the interior, and bright red very very rarely ages well on a car.

ive decided to stick with the ralliart red (flame red to some but mitsis call it ralliart red so) because the green without sunlight doesnt standout that much.
would like to know were they got the bonnet done on the green sx though.

Perhaps contact the dealer that was selling the car, if those details are mentioned within the linked thread.

Funny that because Mitsubishi has never brought out a colour called "Ralliart" Red.
They have however made "Flame" Red, as Type40 pointed out.
