Just a quick question, could someone please post some pics for me? A VRX/ GT integrated headunit and a sat nav screen version please! Thanks!

As you can guess from the watermarks I pilferred the pics off the net (years ago).

EDIT: I cleaned up my Photobucket account and deleted these old pics, cos the thread is old now anyway. Sorry if anyone's reading through it now...

The second last pic above is very strange, it shows a GT interior and yet it has ES instrumentation not the sports instrumentation found in SX, VRX and GT as shown below.

Judging by the strip inserts, that's an LS interior isn't it?

The slate mahogany finish trim accent and black leather have only ever been used together on 380 GT.

I believe I was confused as MMAL appear to have completed a running change during Series III to the sports instrumentation from that pictured above. I have copies of the 380 brochures here and have 380 GT interiors at Series I and II with the basic type and sports in Series III

Yeah I noticed; I have that dash! But these were probably just interior mock ups for the pre-release publicity and customer brochures, etc etc.

Here's another pic. You can use any double DIN head unit with the double DIN console kit.

I'd love to see a pic of the GT VRX dials lit up at night.

I take it by that, you mean that the double DIN console kit is just half of the original console, and retains the A/C controls, but the other controls for the stereo are removed because you wouldnt need them if you were putting in a double-DIN unit?

Is that about right?

Where does one "acquire" a double DIN console kit?

Cheers

Is that a VRX/GT console? It looks like the standard one, like mine.

Yep, series 1 380 VRX.

I think they light up the same, just the colouring of the dials themselves is different, so look different in daylight.

yep, all the dash and displays on all 380s are backlit with blue LEDs.. looks pretty cool although im not a fan of the blue and tan interior combos in the LS and LX models.. they should have been white or green for more of a luxury theme..

Have you had the 'cup of coffee' warning light come on yet.

My car currently lives a life of 30 min drives max. LOL

Will probably see it on the next interstate trip though, as I tend to only stop when the car needs fuel.

I thought the white backing of VRX/GT gauges would light up differently - but here not at all. They both look the same. I love the blue, having had amber-consoled cars previously.

My car also only sees about 30min x2 per day. I'd had it over a year before I went for long 2+ hour cruise. When that coffee light and alarm went off, it scared the hell out of me. I thought it was a engine warning or something.
