There's one car I'm thinking of purchasing but it has no mitsubishi badges on either side of the car. However i spotted this on other ones for sale as well, which kind of confuses me whether they have been badged or not. Anyway do you blokes know whether some are manufactured without them?

I've only ever seen one VR-X locally with VR-X badging on the side skirts... Never seen anything like that before other than my own Magna which I rebadged myself. Might have been one of those dealer quirks that some cities have.

a lot of ppl choose to take the badges off... i did...

u can tell if its been badged if there are scratch marks where the badge should have been otherwise the owner has simply warmed the glue up with a hair dryer and removed the badge themselves...

no biggy unless u want the badges... in that case u can go to the wreckers and get some or jst ask someone on here...

Oops my mistake, i meant there are no badges on the front or back of the car. I notice it doesn't even have VRX or Magna on the back either. I think he personally took them off. I'll ask him when i meet him anyway.

Yeah it's common practice to debadge your car, considering the badges make the ass end of the car look fugly. Just consider it to be less effort required on your behalf.

Alright, that's kool. Thanks for the quick replies guys, it just cleared my mind. It surely looks like the guy took it off himself because there are no marks at all.

thats one thing i have never really gotten my head around.....why would you want to debadge your car! - i know each to thier own - to me the rear end looks a little bland without bages, and the nose on a TJ looks crap without the diamond....but as i said, each to thier own......I had badges put ON my car when i bought it!

I like them debadged, but with the diamonds still on. taking the diamonds off is going too far.

It's not a Series II, it's not "Quadtec" and despite what the badges along the sides of the car say, it's not AWD. It is a VR LE though :D

lol, i couldn't do that. False labels never appeal to me. :P

By the way, i checked the car out. I swear, the exterior looks good with few scratches, but mate.............................................. ... when i opened that door. The seats had stains and rips in the fabric. There was dirt all over the floor as well. I tell ya, i was scared to even sit on those seats. I would be embarrassed to sell a car in such condition.

Sounds a bit like a VRX I went to see. Car was filthy and leather interior had crumbs and dirt everywhere. The guy had over a week to get it cleaned from when we arranged to meet up! Drove 2.5hrs to see it too :(

And yeah, I've gotta get these stupid labels off, just haven't gotten around to it. Can anyone recommend something to get the old goo off?

Orange cleaner....not diluted

I found some "Orange Power" brand goo remover at Coles that did the trick when I did my debaging. Just apply it to a chux and give it a rub over. Didn't affect my paint in any way either. It's in a small (2-3 inch tall) orange bottle.

Eucalyptus Oil is good stuff to use, or a little bit of Trisol\Prepsol but make sure you wash it off with water after.

Removed the extra badges off mine a few days ago, going to remove the rest when I get time. Bought a can of the $2.99 Bug and Tar Remover from Go-Lo, worked a treat for getting the crap off :D

After every car rally we remove the numbers leaves a mess we find it is best cleaned up with Eucalyptus Oil.

As for the topic of this discussion we bought several new TJ VRX's series I & II none had the VRX badges on the side skirt however I was told by the dealer that they where a delete option and that orginally they were intended to have them. Hence the cardboard cut out promotion models all had them printed with VRX on the side skirt.

We also ordered two VRX's without rear spoilers, these came delivered with in window brake lights and the spoilers on the back seat, from memory both cars where white.

On my old vrx I took the diamonds of the front, it looked stupid with no badge but I hated the diamonds so I put a VRX badge on the beek. It actually didn't look to bad lol

They are sold with badges but some people take them off for a "clean " look.
My standard TJ wagon had the beak debadged when I got it, I think it looks better without it on the front.
