Greetings,
Figured I'd get my tax done soon and just want to sus out some prices.
I'm sick of my springs creaking and i bloody hate body roll!!
So... I'm after new suspension, I have only the basic knowledge of it, thus why I'm asking you genius' :)
Atm my springs are reset and compressed which was just a cheap way of lowering that, well besides from cutting the springs myself...

1 1/2" lower at the front and 1" lower at the rear... I like the ride height but the springs are still factory and soft as. I cannot stress enough how much i body roll.
I see that most of youse have Super lows at the front and just lows on the rear?
Any info and input is very welcome and appreciated :)
cheers

Get whatever springs take your fancy, but remember their job isnt to control body roll, yes they may help to an extent, but thats what the swaybars are designed for,so upgrade the rear bar and get king lows all round and your sea sick days will be over (i prefer a even sill panel, this is what you get with lows all round, some like even wheel arches, but this in most cars tips the nose down and the bum up IMO,like a wedge, this is what the low /superlow combo will do
Oh,replace the shocks while you are at it,as the soft rate "lowered" springs you are running ATM are dentrimental to a struts life and are probably due to be replaced anyways

Depends on what he means by Whiteline kit really, shocks and springs should be around 300 installed with a wheel alignment.

Oh sorry, I meant including the price of springs/shocks, so 300 for fitting, how much does a King SL/L combo and KYBs cost on average?

I might be wrong, but I've heard around 660 supplied and fitted?

$660 supplied maybe, but not fitted, Kings and KYBS are around $650 delivered from philcom, looking more at $900 odd fitted.

Thanks for that mate, have to keep saving lol
Hmm ok then. Also by whiteline kit I mean everything they provide in ways of suspension gear (strut brace, sway bar, etc...)

yer i just got the upgraded suspension/shocks a month or so ago now. $650 delivered to my door step, then most mechanics will do it for around $50 a corner to install, because they take around an hour each to get the springs set in the shocks etc. so i got mine all done for $870 ($20 GST )
In full, what comes in the whiteline kit? Rear, Front sway bars and Strut brace?

Looking at your profile your car does not have a standard rear bar.
So in order of bang for the buck.
1) Rear sway bar kit. This will have everything to put a rear sway bar on your car.
If you are an enthusiastic driver get the adjustable one.
Will greatly improve turn in response and cornering speed as well as improve tyre wear by reducing the forces onto the tyre tread outside edges when cornering.
This is the biggest single improvement that you can make to a Magna suspension!!
2) Front caster / antilift bush kit. Not cheap will be about 400 fitted. However your car probably has worn bushes so there will be a dramatic improvement.
This will take some of the remaining vagueness out of the steering.
3) Front camber pins. $70 ish plus fitting from memory. Get these done when the shocks and springs are done.
Set to 1° negative.
4) Front sway bar.
This is a straight swap with new poly bushes supplied.
5) Strut brace.
Great for the underhood Wa*k factor. Basically would only be of any benefit after all of the above has been done.

Cheers for the advice. Just bought me rims so I'm a bit of a povo now, but after that i'm going to get lower springs so my car doesn't look like a 4x4. Also getting aftermarket bushes.

Be careful of what bushes you use, there isnt any real point in changing them unless you are going for a full spec track car, just do the antilift/castor kit and swaybars, it will stick to the road like hot glue (depending on your tyres) and will be a nice neutral car to drive.
Replacing other bushes without real need is wasting money imho.
