hey guys,

ive been out of parkers for a while so i bought some new ones, thats where the trouble started.

ive got parras so i had to solder the correct wires together, this obviously meant cutting the connecter off, stripping and soldering. i put the parkers in but forgot to turn the parker switch off.
next thing to happen was somehow the wrong lines touched and i blew a fuse(15A).
no worries, replace the fuse. things went from bad to worse...

now my parkers only work on the drivers side, passenger wont at all AND ive blown 3 fuses {15A} (all the same, parkers and dash lights) and each have blown straight away.
im not amazing with electrical knowledge so any help would be fantastic! id like to be able to see what speed im doing at night AND have my parkers... front and rear lol
im thinking relay or a short elsewhere, parker bulbs have been removed until further notice lol

thanx in advance all!!
tim

probuley best to go over what you did again
check all wiring and connections
sounds like something is shorting out somewhere (either: wire touching wire or wire touching the car body)

Update:
changed the fuses today with no issues. all parkers and dash lights are working:D
i soldered it all together and she's working a treat
However...
my passenger parker is still not working. i swapped the bulbs with no avail, so its something to do with the passenger parker circut.
i retraced my steps and nothing was wrong there other than the wires hitting and Obviously causing a short somewhere.
as stated, dont really know my way around the electrical side of things so any ideas as to what exactly ive damaged, where it is and the solution would be great.

thnax again!

Are they LED parkers? If so, Switch the globe around as they only work one way.
If not. I'm stumped :P

Yeah LED's only work one way, they have a + and a - and yeah, normal halogen globes will work either way.

Stumped me for a while when i put my LED parkers in too lol

What you will have to do is cut the wires again and swap them over mate

Well tried the LED in the opposite way but it still doesnt work, thanx for the tip TUFFY but not go. both LEDs work on the driver side however, so something is wrong with the passenger side parker wiring, i thought it wouldve been setup in series, not parrallel.

Anyone got anything else? surely someone knows their auto elctrics out there...

The parkers are in parralel.

First try swapping the bulbs from side to side to prove they are both good (as stated, led ones only work one way round but parkers should only have one pin on the end so that wont be a factor)

If only one bulb works in both sides the bulb is dead.

If both bulbs work in one side and not the other the fault is in the wiring.

Get a meter and set it to volts, test between the centre pin and a good earth point for 12 volts with the parkers on.
If there is no 12 volts check the fuse and follow the wire back looking for a break.

If there is 12 volts test for voltage between the centre pin and the outer casing of the bulbs socket.
If there is no 12 volts check the fitting to make sure it is makeing good contact with earth.

Gimme a yell if you get this far and you havent found it yet. :D
