Simply question. Do ADR approved seats, placed into a magna with Custom rails require an Eng Cert ?
Some people say yes, others are saying no.
It seems the big different here is that the seats have allready passed ADR specs, but, the rails will need to be custom.
I am in NSW btw.

all seats that arent factory require a enigineers certifcate,to get this certificate the seats need to have a a plate at leats 20 mm underneath the rails of the said seast[i have done this mod quite a few times dood]

by plate you mean 20mm wide (say 4-6mm thick) re-inforcement bar welded between the bolt holes? Or only if they dont use the factory bolt holes you need to re-inforce the floor mounting bolts with 20mm thick plate?

Just out of curiousity, what about people with TL/TW's with seat-mounted side airbags? Illegal, since you'd be removing an airbag?

Correct, illegal to remove an airbag.
And 6Sik6 is right, you will have to get an engineer's cert.
