Looking at upgrading my headlights, i really want Phillips Crystal Visions but don't wanna spend that cash money on them, i found a shop on ebay selling Eclipse light globes that claim to look the same as crystal visions, the link is in the ebay thread.
Has anyone had any experience with this brand of bulb before?
Hit or a miss?
Also is it safe to use the 100w bulbs without upgrading anything?

my TJ is using a---make your own plug--- because of the 100watt globes
in other words my wiring and plugs got burnt out both sides because of the 100w globes :D
hope this helps

Meh, overseas is the only way to get **** at competitive prices.
I'll be running 100w globes soon, in Narva spotlights.

mmm true, so has anyone had any experience with the Eclipse brand at all? I just noticed that the comparison pictures on the ebay listing are 2 mins apart apparently... 2 mins is pretty quick to change the bulbs over and take another picture lol

Because I've heard some pretty bad stories about globes shattering and stuff which then ruined the reflective surface of the headlight, I chose to stick with brands I know. I've gone with the Phillips Blue Visions, they're not as good as the Crystal Vision but they at least the BLue Visions are roadworthy (Crystal Visions are n't in case you didn't know).
I'd stick with the well known brands if I were you, even though the crystal Visions look great.

Well you should consider them.
If you want quality, go philips.
If you want cheap **** globes that will blow within hours of installing them, go the chinese ones.
Talk to heathyoung about it, Run new wiring (with the relay and fuse etc) for a 100w setup and I guarantee it will CRAP on any 60w bulb.
Remember there is no displacement for cubic err wattage
besides those white globes give out **** all light, great use of $150 that is.

Don't you have white globes on your car? Surely for $150 they are better then standard, and plus i want them to make my car look better:D

Im feeling like a broken record!
What you your doing is infact down-grading your lights to below what they are with standard 60/55 watt bulbs,,to cut a long story short ,blue = **** for light output
Take tuffy`s advice and with that $150 get yourself a set of 90/100 philips rally globes if you have glass or Philips X-treme vision if you have poly lenses and get a auto elec to fit a relay to each circuit and you will have a great upgrade, best bang for your buck that you can get.
If you are doing it for "looks",disregard everything just said!

Nope, why waste $150 on globes that give out less output then $10 standard globes?
I use the $30 Calibre Extra vision, very good globes for a cheap price.
when it comes to this i would want the best i can, not just what looks good in photos.
if you want to make your car look better get white led parkers for photos

Mmm hong kong HU :P
Prices seem alright though, 1 pound is about $2.10AUD so its about double the price, and with no delivery fee its a pretty good deal in the end, none of that 99 cent globe $50 postage crap

They have 3 LED's in each globe and reflect real good!
But mostly due to exposure its brighter :D

I have no idea about headlights, but will the Philips X-Treme Power H4's fit in 3rd gens, and will they give a noticeable improvement over stocko lights? I hate mine, they're BS. Oh and also (told you I had no idea) Do the bulbs do both high beam and low beam, or is high beam and low beam seperate globes? :P

In the 2ng gen headlights (well in my ones) the standard headlight is a h4 im pretty sure.
This has 2 filaments, one for low and one for high beam.
Wombat, get the NAVRA arctic blue or white globes from Supercheap for $40 or whatever they are where you are, I have them in and they have fantastic light output for the price

Yep thats the ones im getting tomorrow, do they give out a blue or white light? Have you got any pics around of them on?
GT-Pete
19-08-2008, 08:31 PM
They don't look 'blue' as such, but they do look whiter than my high beams, makes the high beams look a bit yellow when compared to them.
I have white LED parkers in, and the combination looks good together but you won't get a white HID look from these bulbs.
As I said before though and tuffy commented, LEDs look good, but it doesn't matter so much about your globes output as long as you get good light out of them, its for your own safety really.
That said I still want HIDs but that is another discussion altogether, do a search, it has been done to death
BTW No pics at the moment sorry

Nah of course not!!!! I would like to do mine at some stage though so they look the same.
People hardly see your high beams on so I wouldn't wory too much about it

For sure, get the Philips X-tremes if you want to actually want to improve your light ouput, unlike some blokes in this thread!!! ,if you want to do the high beam you will also need a pair of H1 globes as well (inside section),but the low/highs are H4 (outside section),they are the best you wil get without fitting relays and overwatt bulbs.
So in conclusion you need
2x H4
2X H1 (if you cant get X-tremes,try vison plus or even a set of Narva/Philips 100 watters, but you will have to keep an eye on the plugs to see if they are melting)
