I am looking into a good SQL and this is what i got quoted which is under $5000 (including install and basic custom boot install).
Eclipse CD7200
Rainbow Vanadium CS265 Phase plug 6½ 2 way split
Rainbow Vanadium 10 inch subwoofer
2 x Rainbow IPAUL 2.400 amplifiers (2 x 130 watt rms and 1 x 400 watt rms for the subwoofer) both at 4 Ohm
Dynamat Extreme Bulk Pack
I am getting the right package here and good gear?
The guy told me that It may take about 3days - 2wks depending on the work and customization.

i wouldnt buy that, not in a pink fit
p.s theres no such think as SQL its either SQ or SPL :P
If your looking at spending that kind of coin on quality id be going a 3 way front setup
something maybe focal?
Then go some alpine / any decent brand of amps here
and buy one of 8 billion SQ subs available

I have never heard a Rainbow speaker in the flesh, but my vote usually/always goes to Focal... $5,000 seems a bit rich up front!
Edit: Keeping in mind I pretty much bought my stereo components in stages, softening the blow haha.

i got tvs in the headrests, pioneer 7 inch lcd front system, twin 12 inch pioneer subs in pioneer box, 760watt amp, pioneer speakers all round (pics on mca) for under $3500.
no way in hell will i ever spend $5k on a system when this system kicks ass!
and ive never had anything pioneer stuff up ......... EVER

You spent pretty close to $5,000 with components that aren't even close to being as good quality as what Gorgath has listed.
Gorgath mate, have you actually heard what the CS265 speakers sound like? Keep in mind that this is what you will be hearing most of, and what will make or break the system. The pricetag is quite large but I think you will be getting an awesome quality system out of it!
Now that I've properly thought about it, go for it! Lucifer seal of approval.

Seeing the CS265's go for at least 500 English pounds each (and sound like they are worth every pence) I'd say go for it. You'd probably get it cheaper buying each component yourself using the InTerNetzz, but for peace of mind, and the install, retail isn't so bad.
One thing you can say about rainbow gear is, you'll never need to upgrade it.
(Unless of course you go even higher) :P
Sounds like a beautiful set up you won't regret. I don't have $5k lying around, but you will love it. Are they gonna stage it and tune it all?

But there is that extra bit of pride and satisfaction when you do the install yourself :D

Rainbow is damn good gear, and that setup sounds like it would be veerrrry nice. I would get them to install it for that sort of gear. No point getting awesome gear and then doing a home job install (unless you really know what you are doing with separation, tweeter positioning, sound stage etcetcetc).
Pioneer doesn't even come close to Rainbow MAD35L...

Hey guys, thanks for the outputs about the systems.
Yes, the techinician said that it will need a proper install due to the product is top range. The break down cost is around $3700 (gears) then the rest will be install and custom boot install (including materials). I have 30 days to decide as per quote and they need my car to be booked in for inspection so they can lay the best platform to install it.

Since you've mentioned it, no I haven't but he did say to me thatwill do a test run on the gears just to satisfy me about the system and show how good it is.
I am not acutally on SPL side but more in SQ, so I guess, I gotta have to get it.

I have a set of Rainbow CS265 Profi Kick, So these are quite similar to what you're looking at, same power output, however the vanadium line have a higher sensitivity, and the phase plug also helps, so they'll probably just that slightly bit better. I'm still yet to find an amp that can match the SQ that these speakers can provide - I'm looking at digital amps now.
These speakers are very high quality and hand made in germany, my box actually had the quality control sticker and with the guys signature on who made the speakers!
Rainbow are not a brand that you brag about to your mates, they're a speaker that you enjoy full heatedly, and one that you treat with respect :)
I'm more that sure you'll be happy with the speakers, but 5 grand is a serious amount of cash, and it might be worth shopping around, only problem is that if you heart is set on rainbows, you will never find competative pricing in aus, as there are very few dealers.
Edit: Also keep in mind rainbow speakers need to be "warn in" (like a good shoe!) you wont get the full potential out of them untill after about 20 hours.

"worn" sounds about right.. righty :P
do shop around. you might also consider looking at morel 2 way or 3 way. just depending on what you can get for the price you are willing to spend. also remember that 3 way would need a really really good tune to sounds their best, otherwise they could sound pretty average. if i was you though id go out and test some of the speakers that are in your price range. disregard the pioneer comments. for your price you could also look at focal 3ways.. but rainbows are truly a work of art and without a doubt you will enjoy them

At the moment for $3500-$4k for components personally something like:
*Alpine CDA-9887 $600
*Audison LRx3.1k $1400, 160WRMS x 2 @ 4ohm + 1150WRMS x 1 @ 2ohm
*Vibe Space SQ12 EVO $500
*Morel Elate 6inch 2ways $825 or the 3ways which are just over $1000.
would be my choice but so long as you audition the gear remembering that the Magna is a big car - needing power. That is rough AU$RRP at the moment. As said, Rainbow gear is great just make sure you explore all options first. You will notice also everything above is from a different company :D
