This is how my car sits currently on King Spring Superlows (front) and Lows (rear):

I want to go lower in the back to reduce the wheel arch gap and get rid of the flying wedge profile.
Would Lovells Superlows in the rear achieve this or should i compress the current springs?
Future handling mod for the rear will include a Whiteline adjustable sway bar if that makes a diff.

yeah the lovells will give you another inch lower and the whiteline wont affect the spring heights. You can also get a set of custom kings made up so you can keep the same spring rate as the king low and get the exact height you wish to achieve.

Really? How much and where from?

Any place that has an account with king, all you do is measure the stock spring height when out of the car, then subtract the height you want to lower it by, then select your spring rate. Cost is around 300 a pair for customs.

Yeh i was thinking of going about an inch lower in the back. If Lovells Superlow gives me this i'll go for it, otherwise custom Kings it will have to be.

BTW, if i went another inch lower in the back will the spring still be captive when jacked up or will it fall out?

I always thought that this only happened when you cut or compressed springs? The point of buying lowered springs was that they were the same height in the suspension they just settled lower?

If you know what I mean

I had the same problem in mine. Lovells SL didnt really make it sit flat. I got my Lovells reset by 1 inch in the back and it now sits flat.

Do you know how much lower Lovells Superlows are than King Spring Lows for the rear?
Do you have a side on pic of your car with uncompressed Lovells Superlows in the back?

This was after I had the Lovells fitted.

I really didnt notice that much of a difference between Kings SL and Lovells SL

Watch out for your camber angle if you wanna go as low as wollongongVerada.

It starts looking like a commodore hey Mark :bowrofl:

But my god does it look hot! Get some SL's compressed and get some wheel arch overlapping happening

Another vote for wollongongVerada's hotness  Looks even better in person!

Thanks for the pic wollongongVerada. Yeh you're right, Lovells Superlows aren't that much lower in the back than King Spring Lows.

I might as well just get the current Lows compressed or go for custom height King Springs. Will also have to get the lips on the inside of the rear wheel arches rolled to avoid tyre scrubbage.

wollongongVerada or anyone else who have compressed their springs, have you guys had any problems in regards to handling?

I havent noticed too much of a difference. Having said that, my rear shocks need replacing so I guess that will make a difference.

If your shocks are OK, you wont have a problem.

Bloody hell that's low! I now feel like my KE is a Monster truck lol

Mohit, I'm not sure how wollongongVerada's lowness would go when you've got 5 guys in the car hammering around streets as you do, we were getting a bit of scrubbing as it is :P

Haha yeh i remember that 5 guys in my car, driving through dips in the road and a fair bit of scrubbage from the rear. Nothing a bit of guard rolling won't fix however.

Or just a thought, turn the boost up on the sprintex so the wheels have passed the bump before they get a chance to drop into them? :P

I remember a TF I looked at when I was shopping around which had Pedders Lowriders front and rear (SL), it sat with the wheels not quite tucking under the rear guard but basically level (no gap but not under the guard). Looked great, did drive a bit firm though. That said when your looking that low you've thrown the idea of comfort out the window on a bumpy road already anyway. I'll see if I can find a pic for you.

Edit:
Its a ****ty small photo but it gives you an idea:

yeah so long as you dont cut the spring you should be good, mohit id try getting them reset an inch lower first and see if that is good, if not you can revert to the Custom kings.

all i did was remove the 1 of the dead coils at the top of the coil.. they still remain 100% captured in my KYB's.. (belive it or not, there is absolutley nothing wrong with removing a dead bound coil, it's when you start removing the spaced out progressive part of the spring there is a problem)

i strongly suggest shimming the rear upper control arm though with some longer bolts and washers (all available at your local hardware store for under $20)... or pay $100 for a whiteline 'rear camber kit' which is the same thing..

i noticed when mine was that low at the back it had massive camber.. and gave the rear end a little bit of a 'loose' or 'nervous' feeling when you go around a corner and hit a small imperfection in the road.. plus the obvious tyre wearing..

i used 8mm spacers in my rear end, with my 20's they do not touch the wheel arches, which have yet to be lipped.

Did this mod today...just cut off the dead coils from the rear springs

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v124/mohit/Verada/verada63.jpg

lol Nah that's just a photo i took today and by a fluke the rear of the car is sitting exactly how i'd like to see it.

it's safe to do.. just remove the top bound-up dead coil.. and it will sit perfect :)

I had normal king lows all round, yes I definately agreed that the car looked like it was diving into the road.
So I got Lovell superlows installed in the rear. Much better

I've also opened up a FS thread for the springs pending approval. Has all the photos in there fitted with multiple sizes of rims lol
