Hey, It's been a while since I got the Verada from the bargain bin at the auctions, it's about to hit 160,000kms and it hasn't missed a beat. I've even gotten used to the bone-jarring thud as I hit bumps with the ridiculously low suspension, and the fact that a litre of oil has mysteriously vanished in the 10,000kms since last service and it hasn't leaked and doesn't appear to have burnt. Other than that the car has been the cheapest and best car I've owned......however, a few weeks back I went to start it and there was a beep that lasted for probably 2 or 3 seconds as the key hit the start position. The car still started and no warning lights or anything came on, so I did what any responsible driver would do and ignored it. It didn't happen again until yesterday, then it happened twice, once as I left work and then again later in the day when I went to start it. It is obviously a warning of some kind and seems to be coming from the lower dash/footwell sort of area but it only lasts a short time and is just as I'm starting the car. There is no other warning or obvious problem with the car and I was wondering if anyone knew what it is and how I can make it stop. Aside from being really annoying it might actually mean something is wrong. Thanks.

No aftermarket alarm. What is a faulty RAM module? Why is that a cause for a Hahaha?
What kind of beep is it? Similar tone to that of the Headlight alert, or something else?

Yep same sort of beep as the headlight alet, a really short beep then it's gone by the time I let the key go.

No aftermarket alarm. What is a faulty RAM module? Why is that a cause for a Hahaha? They're implying your car is a computer.

Oh, duh, yeah if there is one thing I know less about than cars it's computers. Nice work guys, but I'm afraid you're largely just amusing yourselves, I'm a computer moron, jokes are never as funny when you have to explain them to the dumb ass

My KH did this all of a sudden for no reason.
You know what fixed it?
Good old problem solver to all our issues.
Disconnect battery time. Mine has never done it since.
For memory after asking Mitsub people, it isn't ment to do it and doesn't mean anything.

Hmmm, it doesn't mean anything? If thats the case then I don't care how often it does it, it could beep every time I start the car for all I care, as long as I know the thing isn't going to blow up I'm fine with it. Curious that there'd be an feature that let the car beep unintentionally, but I'll run with that explanation. Thanks for the help.
