Hey all,
as the title as i need a bit of help on how to replace the rear rocker seal on my g/f 1994 TR Auto V6. Anyway there is been a bit of oil of the ground as of lately and I've been trying to find where its coming from. 1st leak was the sump plug (when i did the oil change i didn't replace the little black seal) fixed that. And the oil filler cap was leaking fixed that also. I put the car up on ramps and decide to have a look to see where its coming from and so i degreased the snot out of the bay and the under side of the car (3 cans of degreased on  ) and left it for a week. I could smell burning oil one when i was driving it, so i went back home and put the car up on ramps and there was oil on the back of the engine and around the cam blind seal?? (the opposite side of the timing belt). So I've got the rear rocker gasket + gasket goo at home what else do i need and a quick run down on how to do it would be good
thanks all

hey perry, i got this done by adza27 and his genius dad, just after i bought it magna v6 ts. Bit annoying and fiddly, but didnt take very long. Was the only cause of a minor oil leak i had, caused by the fact the seals had hardened and gone brittle and the new ones fixed that being nice and flexible :)
Took the rear brackets off- and the two bolts at back-of cover, took the throttle body off , (just so u dont have to take intake manifold off or you will need to replace it and the seal...)
- Pulled cover out, put new seal in using a bit off high temp glue stuff to hold it in place (as u put it in upsidown and it can fall out and be annoying)
be carefull not to pinch seal
- When putting throttle body back on tighten it evenly across bolts, otherwise you will distort it.
Sounds simple bit of fiddling, but mine has looked bone dry for ages now :).

The cam blind seal often leaks as the rubber goes hard
Also make sure you replace the bolt seals as well.
Only use sealant where the gasket curves over the cam lobes, do not use it elsewhere

hey, where do you get the bolt seals from?
Only use sealant where the gasket curves over the cam lobes, do not use it elsewhere
This is REALLY good advice, take note of this folks!

how does one replace the cam blink seal cause there is oil around there as well (is that the big black thing)

:stoopid:, the right had side one is leaking.
i was going to do it on the week end but was doing other stuff but i did check the rear breather and its completely blocked. I cleaned the front one with a piece of wire and carby cleaner and the engine actually sound quieter now. it was starting to get nosiy:nuts:

i got a spare rocker cover from the wreckers (thanks andy) and cleaned it up really really well, as there was carbon caked everywhere, cleaned the breather and painted it red.... hopefully ill find time to do the front one soon, so i can put it all together...

Curious as to why? I always put a thin coating just to be safe. (I'm paranoid) Is it because the rubber itself should seal up fine?
