The standard oil pump is actually plenty enough for our engines. The last 2 NA 3.5L engines ive built have both been high revvers (7900 rev limits) and have not suffered any oil pressure/supply issues.

Rebuilding the stock oil pump is cheap if the oil pump gears are worn. There are 2 gears (or rotors as they are known) inside the pump, they can be bought for around $20 for the inner and $30 for the outer from mitsubishi. The only other bit i replace is the relief plunger and relief spring as a precaution.
