Hi all, just wondering what a good replacement muffler you would recommend for a 1996 Mercedes Benz C200 (Mum's car).

We've had the car since 1997, it has 160,000km and the rear muffler is perished. Sounds like a sand inside the muffler when you give it a shake.

An original replacement muffler from Benz is in the four-figure $$ region, hence we do not see the point of doing that.

We do not want it loud (obviously). Factory noise levels are ideal. Any performance gains are highly welcome. A 2.0 litre four carrying 1500kg certainly needs the gains.

I was going to suggest the LR2779 but it is too large.

If anyone has any suggestions for brand or model, just let us know!

Thanks
Justin

At the risk of stating the obvious, there is probably a low chance of someone on a magna forum being familiar with a merc.

Have you tried chatting to an exhaust fitter?

I agree, drop by a local exhaust shop and im sure he will have something in the same size that can be fitted,Probably a reverse or Tri-flow to keep noise down, let your fingers do the walking my friend!
