Hey all,
Recently have has some issues with my starter motor not disengaging and making an epic amount of noise.
Took me a while to find what it was:
* Changed my belts (which I found I have an issue with one of the pulleys not being attached)
* Took off the engine cover to see if it was tappets (this showed me that the engine has been rebuilt before but the previous owners didn't tell me) and we resealed the engine as it was leaking a huge amount of oil down the exhaust manifold.
* Took out the starter motor and found that it was an aftermarket one (I think so, Unless Mitsubishi commissioned Bosch to provide starter motors.
PICS:

The circular thing which is destroyed (see pic) was shattered through the whole starter motor and wasn't allowing the thing to disengage. Had to shake the starter to get everything out.
Basically my question is, Seeing as I have put it all back together and it works fine, Should I try and source a new starter motor, Will I face issues in the future with it and should I try not to use the car while the starter is like that.
