All depends on the style of vents/scoop you go for IMO
I think some tasteful vents can add alot to the car, although on a completely stock car with no other bodykit it will look a bit odd.

If you want to reduce under bonnet temps go for vents. Once i can afford it i'll be getting these Jaguar XKR vents moulded into my bonnet:

i dont think the Jag vents will look that good on a magna IMO..
they are more of a fluid and motionable shape... and magnas are quite a bulkly square (but very) good looking shape - Mohit, you just want the Jag ones coz they say "Supercharged" - and who could blame you really.
i like the ones on the white car above, think they are subltle in thier own way :)

Maybe not on a TH but i think they suit the lines of the raised beak centre section of the TJ bonnet well. That's the main reason i'd be getting those. The Supercharged part is just a cool extra feature

if you are looking to reduce underbonnet temps, get a rearward facing vent with a large opening. If you are looking to get cooler air into your filter box, go for a foreward opening one, but make sure its sealed.
the pressure difference of hot underhood air/cooler ambient air will draw the hot air out as cool air sweeps up over the bonnet and vent.
One of the cheapest and easiest ways to get this, is to raise the bonnet on top of the hinges (near the windsheild with stainless washers. then remove the rubber stripping ontop of the firewall (that usually seals bonnet temps from getting to the windsheild) and voila, this mod works a treat with lots of cars.

in regards to that pick of the R31...yes thats what i taling about but i think they took it a little far. On my s13 i did it and no matter how you looked at it there was nothing noticable out of place, but there was a 15mm gap from the firewall to the underside of the bonnet, which is plenty seeing as how it runs the full width of the car. It helped my underbonnet temps dramatically.
just due to the angle of the hinges and bonnet slope i only used 2x 1.6mm washes onder each hinge and removed the rubber weather stripping that is used to seal the bonnet/give it something to rest on.

A few words of warning. Go out and buy the genuine period ones. These will set you back minimum $300/pair (they regularly go for 500, with NIB ones at 1k on ebay recently. Yes, really). Whilst Rares sell some Chinese knock offs of the orginals the casting is pretty poor. In particular, the knock offs don't have 3 crucial bumps moulded into the rear frame. Those bumps are there to help water drainage on the XA. On cars with a curved bonnet (like ours) they allow the bonnet sheet metal to maintain a bit of curve even when you do up the speed nuts from behind the bonnet. Without the bumps you end up flattening out the section of bonnet where the scoop is when you do the speed nuts up tight. PM me if this doen's make sense and I'll send some pics

Good idea. Make sure you ask the vendor of the scoops if all 6 pins are in place on each scoop and that they are not bent. You need all six to get the scoop to sit properly. And if you bend them back to straight they WILL snap. Also, don't overtighten the speednuts on the back as the 35 year old alloy tends to snap on the pins. You want enough tension on the speed nut so that you stop tightening half a turn after the nut contacts the bonnet underside
