Sounds like Lukey is your thing, until you hit like 4000 RPM it doesn't really kick through and then it screams

Go the website and listen to the TJ that is on there

lukey LR2779 - rear muffler - about 240ish plus fitting,
its what mitsy used on the VRX / sports, to give the extra note and the bit of extra power.

*should* go straight onto a wagon - i know it does for the sedans.

i have it on my rada, and it doesnt drone badly IMO - but some people with the same one on thier car, and complain about massive drone.
hit a member local to you up about taking you for a spin in thier car to see what it sounds like and if you can handle the 'drone.'

incorrect, comes on from around 1500 and builds up to its peak at 40004pm after that its all engine noise! and you can get a AL4-5597 which is the rear muffler and piping from the rear flange its a bolt on for around 210 from any supercheap, very easy DIY, just make sure you get a gasket (3 bucks) and 3 new Bolts (around 5 bucks) as well. oh and the muffler used in that setup is the Lr2779

Just spoke to my local Supercheap store and this price is accurate for the AL4-5597, price of the unit itself was $199 plus there is freight on top. Being regional like I am freight was $15.

So the big question is: what sort of tip (if any) is on this muffler when you buy it?

no tip just a standard pipe, but we have rebranded lukey Stainless steel tips in stock at all stores now for resonable prices, there is a slide on one there that fits the 2.5inch pipe cant remember if its the 19.99 one or 49.99 ones on the bottom.

prolly no tip at all - just the muffler, add another 90bucks roughly to get a tip put on by an exhaust shop

Just get one similar to mine, nice, simple and still looks good. Keep it a dump pipe style and you wont need to cut into the bumper.

Im looking forward to attacking the back bumper :D Im thinkin a twin tip with the bumper cut to follow the line of the tips closely. I can picture it in my head but i cant describe it real well lol

On my old magna I (2002) I had a muffler put on and changed the tip and what not and it created a lot of engine break as well and the car seemed to go better.

I just bought a sports 03, manual, I dont really know what kind of exhaust to put on either??

I want it to really growl, and sound nice, but i want the performance as well.

Cheers

As far as I can work out from the information on here, the sports muffler is as good as it gets performance wise. Its already fairly high-flowing

For those who care what the AL4-5597 looks like as is bolted on:
http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r161/rhys_fairall/Verada/100_4827.jpg

Just the straight pipe out of the muffler, I haven't got around to getting a tip for mine yet.

The LR2779 is slightly different to the AL4-5597, the AL4-5597 is slightly smaller and does make a little more noise than the LR2779. Below 1800RPM its a deeper note but its not particularly loud, from 1800RPM up to about 4500RPM its a roar and starts to fade off up to the 6000RPM redline. Mine has a fantastic crackle too it as well then you downshift slowing down.

Fantastic exhaust for the money! I didn't even pay anywhere near $200 for mine, find a friend at supercheap and you'll pick up a real bargain!

If the middle piping is still stock, take one of the resonators out, really gives it more bark.

so what role does engine break have if any in enhancing or affecting a vehicles performance??
