Hey guys.
Im looking to replace the rear springs and shocks on my TJ Wagon.
Ive done a commodore and could probably wing it, but can someone give me a basic step by step on how to do the Magna just to make sure i dont screw it.
Cheers

its the same as a commondore i believe, raise car on stands, remove 3 bolts on top strut and the single bolt on bottom control arm remove spring replace spring on new shock and repeat above steps in reverse order

There is a link floating around somewhere to a site where they do a spring change, seems pretty straight forward, I'd never do it but I'm a n00b 4eva. If all else fails drive to Newcastle and smoke ciggies while a couple of other guru's do it for you.

Drive for a long time?? lol
If you've done spring replacements before i cant imagine that there would be huge differences between cars. But TV ruined my imagination.

Rears if you got spring compressors or some lock wire if you wanna be dodgey like me its easy as, my springs fall out accidently its that easy. springs are on their own in a scissor arm holding in with two plates / brackets.
Put the rear up on blocks / ramps(this way envolve jacking up first) or jack up with a trolley jack by axel and stabalise it before you go under.
Attach spring compressor to springs which will be easy access if you have it up and raised.
let the car settle down to the ground and lossen the wheel nuts of one side(spring compressed side) then jack up that side of the car take the wheel off and the spring wouldve probably fallen out if not go in and pull it out making sure if the jack slips its got something else to fall on like your wheel or something. Be careful with the spring make sure what ever you have compressing it is holding tight and just make sure if it fails its not gonna knock you out.
decompress the spring or if your using lock wire go somewhere with a bit of room and carefully cut the wire with goggles on, this is scarey but fun.
vise-versa compress the loweredspring your now going to put in. This is where you will need a compressor unless you get low low springs, if so you wont need to compress should just fit in if you jack car up enough.
put the lowered spring in the spring cups/brackets in your "scissor arm" and when letting the jack down keep checking that the springs is sitting in correctly.
not sure if this has been any help for you i can give you a run through of how to do th fronts also if you want let me know ill write it up aswell. very simple you can do it in under and hour or two not knowing what your doing.

haha yeah the backs wernt that scarey but the fronts was, espesh when you have a larican helping you, screaming and grabbing you while your trying to get the strut out.
the fronts are easy too bro, i seemed to do it in about an hour putting my coilvers in which was stuffing aorund getting them to fit aswell. its fun to work out how it all works anyway.
nah man not cut springs im not that dodgey! just custom height and spring rate K-macs
