Transistor Regulator

I changed it 30,000Kms ago … but it gave up again and my car stopped … the dealer changed it for US$270 including labor (the part Regulator was US$170 after discount

I drive mt car 32,000km per year … and I drive it for long distances … every 2 weeks I drive it 1300KM … going and coming back to work … 650KM one way … but meanwhile I am at work it stays parked for 10 days …

The red circle shows what was worn off

My question is has anyone experienced that … and why does my alternator expires after 30,000km??

Also what can I do to prevent that??

Thanx in advance

Maybe you could get a new alt? Or a second hand one?

Regardless though, it's a Bosch alternator, so it must be global right?

Don't bother getting Mitsubishi parts, there over priced and just a rebadge generally, go to a local auto parts store or a good mechanic and get them to supply an aftermarket unit.

I am not from the US … I am from a country called Bahrain in the Persian gulf, middle east

The price I got for the alternator was with labor from the dealer the might reduce it to US$1000 … but that is it … I don’t think they do any test … if something is worn they change it and that is it

If someone knows the Bosch part number it will be great

Definetly get one shipped to you from abroad it will be so much cheaper. Those prices are outrageous.
Re your issue because they are wearing unevenly i would suspect where the brushes sit there may be a mark or some sort of pitting there hence why one brush wore down quicker than the other.
Hope this helps
