Need some help from fellow black 2nd gen owners or people who know about the paint codes that came with them.
As some of you may know im in need of a new door before i sell my car, i was sitting at the traffic lights the other day when a tow truck driver wound down his window and told me to pull over after the lights, he got out and explained to me that he has a KR verada that he is wrecking, but he says that the colour is pearl black.
Im just curious did Mitsubishi ever spray KR veradas in a Pearl Black?
My car is charcoal grey, so im hoping that he is just making this colour up in his head and its really charcoal grey because i assumed that was the only blackish colour 2nd gens had?

go and have a look at the other car and see if it matches

haha true, its like a 30 min drive out to his property but, would rather see if anyone knows anything about it before i go waste precious petrol for no reason.

there are paint codes in the service manual

Well yes, i just read through it and found that there is no pearl black or anything similar, unless the car got resprayed throughout its life.

Nope, Never seen a Black 2nd gen IN MY LIFE. So chances are its strato grey like yours.

Hope so, save me the hassles of having my car off the road again, sick of the inside of my car smelling like paint.

Out of curiosity, I had a look at the paint code link provided. I noticed various entries with Black Pearl.

Note the years used, car was made in 91-93 so it wasnt used, and there is no pearl black listed in the paint codes in the service manual, cloest is charcoal grey.

id be thinkiing along the lines of "if this guy pulled me over randomly and said i have a door/paart/whatever that it looks like you could use, its probably goinbg to be the right colour as hes seen his car, and obviously he can see yours. id assume he just didnt know the name of the colour. logical conclusion?

Well turns out no, i rang him and the car he has is white:nuts: Pretty annoyed but o well, i got the door for $50, he has the whole car there its a KR verada, ill have a look when i pick up the door off him this arvo and see if it has any other parts people are interested in, ill know peter_pan wants a power aerial so ill have a look for that, if anyone else wants anything let me know and ill start a FS thread.

Sounds like the guy is colour blind. Make sure your not around when he is at traffic light intersection.

Yes i dont trust him at all now, i rang him yesterday arvo to check whether he had taken the door off like he said he was going to, he then tells me he doesnt own the car its coming off, go and see Col W*** Auto repairs, the car is sitting out the back and he has the keys.

Went there, Col can't remember the guy who owns the cars name, doesn't have the keys, said he will find out over the weekend who the guy who owns it is and tells me to ring him back on Monday.

Looking for paint code for a magna altera 1999 , paint code tp . Checked all the usual places no luck. Any ideas ?

Is the paint a solid or metallic finish with clear cote

Are there letters and or numbers before or after the TP/
