Hi all,
I have a TH Sports, and have a couple problems.
The LCD display for the trip computer flashes off and on randomly. Banging the dash doesn't turn it back on :P The data is all correct though, so it just seems the lighting is screwing around. Anyone had one open to see how they are backlit?
2nd problem is my cruise control no longer seems to be working. I press the button on the stalk and the cruise light comes on the dash, but I cannot get it to do anything further... can lock onto any speed.
Any ideas people???

The Cruise Control can or can't lock onto a speed? I'd check the brake sensor for the
cruise control.

Where is that, I have that problem too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mine comes on then the cruise light goes straight off, does yours do the same thing.\
Can you get it to work by jumping on the brakes then quickly tapping set on your cruise stick??? That works for me sometimes

Can't lock onto speed. I press the stalk down to set it at that speed and jack all happens.
The 'Cruise' text on the dash stays stays lit up the whole time until I press the button to turn it off again.
Where is the brake sensor?

As for your cruise control not working check that all the globes are ok in your brake lights. I lost the cruise in the TF and it had me baffled as to what it was. Ended up being the brake lights... And i was driving around for over a month like that and no prick told me!

Defo check under the brake pedal follow it up you should see it. If you have a manual check the clutch pedal too there is usually one there as well.

Will check my lights tonight and then if they are all ok I will check the sensors on the brake and clutch pedals.

My cruise quit after the haltec went in, turned out one of the plugs underneath wasn't replaced properly. It picked up some water and got a bit coroded, cleaned it up, pushed in properly and bingo! all good again.
Also a loose vacum hose somewhere can create same problem, sorry can't b more precise, 'bout a year since it happened to me.
b well, D.

You didn't happen to slam on you brake pad or release it quickly before hand did you?
Also, there could've been moisture somewhere in the tail lights previously.

My cruise control wasn't working, on my TL, after i had my throttle body exchanged, turned out that there was a hole in the diaphragm above the throttle body, meaning that it couldnt keep the pressure. I just put some sealant goop in it and all worked fine.

I worked out my cruise works fine with my lights off.... sounds like my problem is my brake lights :D
