Hi guys

Im taking part in the group buy of the polished dash rings, but so far no 2nd gen owner has measured the size of the dials
I don't have the right equipment to do it, so was wondering if anybody had the measurements or owned a pair of venier calipers and would be able to take some quick measurements for me and the other 2nd gen buyers

Thanks heaps in advanced if anybody is able to help

-Blaine

PS: if anybody is interested, here is the group buy thread - afaik each pair bought includes a small donation to AMC, plus they're just awesome, so i recomend taking a look :)

EDIT: for specification and just to make sure, mine is a TR Auto 4cyl, if you measure, could you just specify your model, cheers

I've got a spare cluster lying around and can check it with a ruler but it may be a little off. If anyone's got a set of vernier calipers lying around it would be good to get my measurement confirmed. I'll attempt to get the measurements up by tomorrow night.

I got a measurement of 111mm for the large central circle and 89mm for the two outer circles. Anyone else get the same figures?

turns out my measurements were bang on with the ruler and measuring tape. 47mm fuel/temp gauges verified today using vernier calipers.

but thanks anyway!! :P

if im thinking of the right thing, then verniers are like a cross between a clamp and a ruler.
have like a L shaped part and a second "-" bit that moves along the base. since the two measuring surfaces are parallel you can measue somethnn at one end on the ruler part at the other.

would the dial rings you speak of fit an 89 TP 1st gen?

As far as I know, it's a possibility. All you'd need is the correct diameter of the dash ring and let Poita know.

Check it out here...

Seeing as your dash would look like this 1 would imagine it would be a bit hard to fit rings into it http://members.westnet.com.au/katsmiller/0126_0003%20(Small).jpg

Just a bump on this if anybody gets a free sec.
The group buy is going ahead nd the measurements are really needed for a few of us, but coincidently it seems no 2nd genners participating in the buy own verniers.

I'll be your forum slave for a week?

Message SlyTS, he used to make dash rings for the second gens.

I have a set of them on my car, it used to be his.

Hi guys, yes the group buy is going ahead and you are more than welcome to join in. I simply need some accurate measurements using vernier calipers. If you don't have any, I live/work in the northern suburbs of Adelaide and can measure them for you if you like.

Cheers

Although I only measured them with a ruler, I did get the same results as you. I haven't checked the depth though.

Yeah 110mm and 90mm, it looks pretty simple, maybe too simple :doubt:
